Tell us about the transition from glasses to Avaira contact lenses. What was it like for you? What surprised you the most? Were there any disappointments? Would you recommend the switch overall?

I wear both contacts and glasses. I usually wear my glasses when my eyes need a vacation from contacts, or i've been at the puter' too long and my lenses get too dry. I did, however, do a trial run of the Avaira lenses about a week ago. What surprised me is how natural they felt in my eyes. Now, for about 2 days I was having a lot of sinus pressure and it affected mostly my right eye so I though, oh great these lenses are on the "no" list, but I kept wearing them and by the third day the pressure was down and they didn't hurt my right eye. I loved how I didn't need to rewet every other hour, and I loved that they felt more natural and didn't bother my sensitive eyes. They're also breathable (dk=100) which is a plus for me since I do have dry and sensitive eyes. I have allergies and tend to get teary eyed a lot, and when this happened, none of my makeup got into my eye or on my lens! That was a plus! I believe everyone should always have a pair of backup glasses, because your eyes can get infected at any time. My husband wears Air Optix Aqua and he recently acquired pink eye at work, and had to take out his lenses and use his glasses for a week! Perfect example of a pair of cheap (or brand name if you prefer) glasses. If you like them, go with them. My motto is "Go with what feels good to you". So far out of my trials of Acuvue TruEyes, Avaira, & the Air Optix i'm trying out now, I like the Avaira the best. Let us know what you decide! I like to hear positive outcomes! Red |

Seriously, if we can see your look in glasses, contacts and sunglasses, that would be really cool. We can see The Many Faces of Redraidermommy. I'm sure you look great no matter what you're looking through. |
