Default Avaira and Astigmatism

Toric lenses are used to help people who have astigmatism. Avaira contact lenses are not toric, but can they still fix astigmatism?

Well that highly depends, I know the Biomedics 55 Premier do a pretty good job correcting astigmatism below 2.00 diopters. Coopervision claims the aspherical design is what corrects the astigmatism and after looking at the insert they seems to have an aspherical avaira contact so you may want to speak to your doctor about that. I currently wear the premier contacts and I have 20/15 vision with my contacts in although my cylinder is - 0.50 in one eye and -1.00 in the other.

This is directly from the insert found online " AVAIRA (enfilcon A) SPHERE and ASPHERE Soft Contact lenses are indicated for the
correction of ametropia (myopia and hyperopia) in aphakic and non-aphakic persons with
non-diseased eyes. The lenses may be worn by persons who exhibit astigmatism of 2.00
diopters or less that does not interfere with visual acuity. "

Actually, there is an Avaira Toric lens, and that will definitely help with astigmatism. The non-toric Avaira lenses may help very mild cases of astigmatism, but results will vary.
