Default Encore 100 - Avaira equiv in Canada?

Does anyone have further information on Encore 100? From googling, it appears to be a re-branded Avaira for the Canadian market.

I bought a groupon for an eye exam and 6 months worth of silicon hydrogel lenses and was given 2 boxes of these lenses for both eyes.

If it's Avaira, it should only be a 2-week replacement lens? I called the clinic and the tech told me it can be worn "up to a month". Firstly, I have had a habit of overwearing my monthlys previously which probably isn't best for the health of my eye, so I really want to stick to what the prescribed wearing schedule is... I feel like they're looking to cut some corners and that's why I was told it's a monthly lens...

Yes it is marketed as an a 2 week replacement lens as it was put out to compete with Acuvue Oasys however it can be worn up to month depending on how your eyes produce protein!

Thanks for the info! I actually emailed the Coopervision rep and they let me know that in Canada the lens has been approved for monthly wear.

Of course you will want to talk to your doctor and see how long he or she wants you to wear those Encore 100 lenses.

I called the optometrist, talked to the contact lens fitter and he had told me they're monthly wear lenses as well.

tradecade - I emailed info@coopervision.ca. They were really quick getting back to me. I'm was pleasantly surprised.

Thanks for posting that email address. I'm glad that you were satisfied, even surprised, by their service.
