Default Avaira Contact Lenses in the Wash

Anyone who uses contact lenses knows the importance of keeping them clean. If you get the slightest speck of dust on one of them--pain.
Did you ever wish you had a tiny washing machine for your contacts? Well, here's one right here. It's a contact lens cleaner. It's got a little agitator and everything. What do you think?

does same thing, the bubbling action of the titration simulates the mechanical action of an agitator, think of it as chemical agitation. try it, you'll like it

So that little two-pronged doodad in the lid of this device doesn't spin? I thought that was how they cleaned your lenses, and evidently Garfield21 did as well. How does this thing work?

Didn't you read rfriel's posting? The bubbling action of the titration . . . thing, um, and something about an agitator. See? Simple.

you guys are waaayyy to funny the mathematics modeling, chemical, mechanical, eletrical, and physical processes and phenomena are all the same, same math, same processes different manifiestations, so yes, a chemical reaction is modeled with the same mathematics as a physical process. but who really cares?

So . . . like . . . the bubbling action of the contact lens solution, the physical motion of the bubbles, acts like that agitator thingee?

Default User Friendly

That's the thing about a web site like Lens 101. You have to make sure that regular people who wear contact lenses can read it and understand it. Just because someone wears contact lenses doesn't mean they understand about modulus and titration, any more than a person who drives a car knows about atomization of fuel and hydrocarbon combustion. We have to keep this site "user friendly."

Right?

Translation: it gets all fizzy and junk.

It sounds like Vogon poetry: "A spatter on my cricket. Whoopee! Yet I cried. I cried! If a spigot is hard, can a steam be biological?"

Thank you very much. Thank you.

Hmm. I guess I don't just have an appreciation for fine poetry.

So . . . how about that little contact lens washing machine, huh? It's got titration and everything. It doesn't even have to counterpoint the surrealism of the underling metaphor.

We care, rfriel. You sound like you know what you're talking about, but I don't. Can you simplify it a bit? Pretend you're telling a bright ten-year-old about it.

You can buy ultrasonic lens cleaners for under $40, but I never read a review or asked my doc about them. Anyone know about them?

This sounds pretty cool:

Ultrasonic Lens Contact Cleaner is a compact-sized battery-operated contact lens cleaner that comes with an antibacterial casing - takes your worries away by washing off unwanted particles trapped on the surface of the lens in just three minutes with a simple press of a button.

Using state-of-the-art microprocessor and a motor to generate a waveform that cleans every curve and edge of your lens thoroughly and effectively.

There is also a special lens holder to help you wear your contact lens - no more scratched lenses from your sharp, long fingernails or nail lacquer contamination.

Compact in size (about 100 gm or 3 1/2 oz) and battery-operated, you can take Ultrasonic Contact Lens Cleaner along everywhere you go. If you plan to wear your contact lenses for long hours, just clean them with the ultrasonic cleaner and relax your eyes for 15 minutes before putting them back again.

All this for only $30.90.

Here's how to order: http://www.colorvuelens.com/default.asp?pid=1207

Thank you very much, Cousin Muscles. See how easy that was? Not one mention of titration anywhere.

You're welcome Guinness. It's not often I'm able to answer the questions found on this forum, so I try to step in when I can.

Don't laugh too loud, but there is a contact lens washing machine. You can buy an ultrasonic cleaner for about thirty bucks.
