Default Bebe Charmain Sunglasses - Starry, Starry Night

Ever hear that song? The other song by Don McClean of "American Pie" fame? It's called "Starry, Starry Night" and it's about painter Vincent Van Gogh.
Anyway, these sunglasses make me think of a starry night. What about you? What do they remind you of?

"Starry starry night,
paint your palette blue and grey
Look out on a summers day
with eyes that know the darkness in my soul
Shadows on the hills
sketch the trees and the daffodils
Catch the breeze and the winter chills
in colors on the snowy linen land"

Is that the song you mean, dontblink?

It's actually called "Vincent" and its a beautiful song. I also heard it sung by a woman with some kind of South American accent. Beautiful.

The sunglasses are beautiful, too. They do remind me of a starlit sky.

Thank you, Rose Tyler. That's exactly the song I was referring to. Inspired, of course, by Dutch painter Vincent Van Gough.

I wonder if the sunglasses were also inspired by Dutch painter Vincent Van Gough?

Default Starry Night Covers

I tried to find who the girl with the accent was, but when I looked up the song I found that almost 30 artists have covered this song, including Vonda Shepherd, Tori Amos, Julie Andrews, Julio Iglesias and even Rick "Howdy Doody" Astley.

That's quite a legacy.

Rick Astley covered "Vincent"?

I bet he's flipping burgers now.

Not that there's anything wrong with that . . .

Thanks for the search, thecure. It's nice to know that this song was covered by so many talented artists . . .

and Rick Astley.

Only kidding! Calm down. Here's what I found out about Mr. Astley on Wikipedia.

"Astley holds the record for being the only male solo artist to have his first 8 singles reach the Top 10 in the UK and has sold approximately 40 million records worldwide.
After fading into obscurity in the 1990s, Astley made a comeback in 2007 when he became an Internet phenomenon, as his video for 'Never Gonna Give You Up' became part of a popular Internet meme known as 'Rickrolling.' Astley was voted by Internet users 'Best Act Ever' at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2008."

"Best Act Ever?" I'll bet fans of Elvis and Bruce Springsteen will have something to say about that.

And fans of the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, The Who (When did Rick Astley ever perform at the Superbowl?), Frank Sinatra, Paul McCartney, The Bee Gees, Prince, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, U2, Whitney Houston, Paul Simon, Van Halen, The Police, Yes, David Bowie, Dire Straits, Madonna, Aretha Franlin, should I go on?

You don't need to go on, Don't Blink. I understand what you're saying and I think you've come up with a clever way to help people find this place when they do a search for Paul McCartney or The Police.

Yeah, that "Best Artist Ever" thing is ludicrous. Where's Astley now?

He was last seen professionally performing at the Northampton Balloon Festival in 2008.

Not exactly Lollapalooza, but hey, they had balloons.

And we come full circle as we see a picture of one of the balloons from that Festival which looks like a box of AMO Complete multi-purpose solution.

I love it when a thread comes together.
