Default Regular Contact Lenses Plus a Magifying Glass Instead of Bifocals

I heard about a trick that some people use to avoid bifocals. The wear regular contact lenses to see in the distance, but when they need to read something they just use a magnifying glass. Has anyone relied on this gimmick to get by with out bifocals?

I am in my early forties, but I can still read without glasses. However, after a bit of research, I've concluded that a magnifying glass would probably work as well as bifocals, although Bifocal Contact Lenses or glasses would leave your hands free.
Not only that, but when I searched Google and put in the search term "magnifying glass" one of the options that popped up was "magnifying glass for reading," so it's not unusual.

A cheap pair of reading glasses would perhaps be easier and keep your hands free if you are working close up.

Yes, it's a good idea to keep your hands free, and you can just go down to the nearest drug store like Walgreen's and pick up the proverbial "cheap readers."

If you want to use a magnifying glass and keep your hands free, there are other ways to do it . . .
