I have a friend who wears toric contact lenses. He was having a problem with his contacts when he looked down to read. It was blurry. When he looked straight ahead everything was fine.
He told his eye doctor about it, and she said that he may need bifocals. Thing is, he's only 27 years old. I thought that most people get far sighted when the reach 40. How likely is it that someone who's not yet thirty could need bifocals? |

It's funny. I can find a lot of information on line about bifocal glasses and contacts, but there's very little about the age of people who use them. That tells me that there really is no "age limit." So it's possible that there are a lot of 27-year-olds out there who wear bifocals.

I started wearing bifocals at the age of 52 but I don't think age is always the reason to wear them. Most people do start at middle age but I'm sure there are many others who have to wear them years earlier.
