Default Bifocal/Progressive/DryEyes/Help

I have a couple of problems and I'm hoping to get some advise here. I currently wear glasses blended lens with a stigmatism mild/mod correction. The worst of my vision is reading and my middle vision. I can see distance without my glasses but I prefer them.

DRY EYE PROBLEM: I have decided try contacts again hoping to resolve the dry eye problems I've had in the past. I have tried several pairs now and even with the my eyes feel like they start drying almost immediately, I even add libricate eyes drops as soon as I put them in. Then after about 2-3 hours I have to use eye drops every 30 min yet my vision gets so blurry I can hardly see a thing. The optomistrist at Costco has offered me what he says is the newest and best material for eyes that dry out but I still have problems.

BEST CONTACT SOLUTION??? My optomistrist has given me bifocals which were OK, but still had dificulty reading with, yet it totally blurred my distance and I couldnt drive at all. Then he gave me 1 distance with a sigmatism correction and 1 bifocal that helped the distance a little but I could see the distance about the same with or without it. I never did figure where or how the bifocal worked except I had to close my eye with the distance contact just to begin to read anything.
Next he offered me a closeup contact for reading I can read fine as long as I close my other eye but it sure blurs distance visiion.

I asked me about progresses and he told me that's what the bifocal was. I noticed it looked like my Costco only carried 2 type of contacts Acuvue
and Bausch & lomb. He told me that's about all he can offer me unless I want to wear just a distance contact lense and wear reading glasses.
Im like I cant read anything without glasses wearing distance contacts would be a waste. Can anyone help me out here. He hasnt even given me my perscription yet? Hmmmmm???? Thanks Kiehn2u
