Default Why Do People Become Farsighted When They Get Older?

From what I understand, presbyopia is caused by the eye being "taller" than it is from front to back, so the light coming in is focused behind the retina instead of on it.

I also understand that EVERYONE gets farsighted when they reach their forties and fifties. Why is it that your eye takes that particular shape when you get to a certain age?
