Was fit for these about 2 yrs ago. HUGELY expensive exam/fitting cost well beyond my insurance benefit but was desperate... Great contacts though. Now time for a new rx and am dreading the fitting cost... don't find them on this forum... any one else use them and did you have topay a huge fitting cost or do I just need a new Optometrist???

I just paid $850 for one year's worth (quarterly) - $150 fitting fee, $700 for lenses. They are the best multi-focals I've ever tried - and I've tried gas perms, Synergeyes, and Proclears in the past five years.
Excellent vision - especially up close. Well worth the money! Still having dry eye issues though. |

Thanks so much for your response. It does validate my experience; high cost but great vision. I'm hoping that I can reorder with just my new visual acuity rx and not have to do the whole fitting thing again. Maybe cut down on some costs that way. Also, purchasing by the quarter would probably take some of the sting out of it. My Optha didn't give me that option and charged me #350.00 for the fitting! I'll shop new docs for my refill.

I did have to buy the whole year's worth at one time - sorry if that was confusing - four pairs total - supposed to use one pair per quarter but the doc even agreed that I could stretch that out.
I am learning more tricks as I wear them - after using Clear Care, I soak them in Opti-Free solution (maybe 30 minutes) before I put them in. Also use GenTeal Gel Drops before putting them in - really helps with comfort. They get more comfortable every time I wear them. Wore them the other day to work - vision is really great! I am amazed! I had almost given up on bifocal contacts - I am EXTREMELY nearsighted - with astigmatism, history of retinal detachment, dry eyes, age......... |
