Do biofinity lenses degrade over time without use?

Hi all,

I'm just wondering if my contacts will wear down over time without use? For example, it says that these lenses are good for 1 month. So if I only wear them every 2 days, can I wear them for 2 months? Or is the 1 month from the time I open the package?

Hi crimsondr. Thanks for joining us. Fortunately, you're not the first to ask this question so I know the answer. The answer is that monthly lenses like Biofinity are typically worn 30 times. So if you only wear them every other day then yes, it will be two months before you throw them away.

Keep this in mind though. I'm not an eye doctor. This is only a generic answer. The smart thing would be to check with your eye doctor to see if he or she thinks this is a good plan for you. I don't know anything about your eyes, so check with him or her first before you change your wearing schedule.

Yeah I know.

Unfortunately, I know what it's like to spout off on something, only to have someone tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about. I hate when that happens.
