My knowledge of Spanish is muy limitado, so when I saw "El Borracho" I wanted to know what it meant. I ran the phrase through a translating web site and it means "the drunkard." Why would someone give sunglasses such a name?

Maybe when you wear them it makes you stagger. I don't know. It sounds a lot better in Spanish.

Maybe someone at Bolle was having some fun with a gringo.

I almost missed the title of you missive, Weirdscience. "Aloe Vera is Cheaper."
Perhaps one day there was some champagne flowing internally and someone said--in a slightly slurred manner--"Hey, amigo, you should sell some sunglasses and call them 'El Borracho.' *Hic* Doesn't that sound muy bueno?" |
