I'm not sure if this is the right sub forum but anyway : I wear rigid gas permeable contact lenses but running out of Boston Conditioning Solution. I'm currently in a country where this is not available. Is there a substitute which can be used for let's say a few weeks or a month ?

I dug a little deeper and found that the main ingredient in Boston Conditioning solution is Chlorhexidine Gluconate (0.006%). I wasn't able to find anything else that had that ingredient in it. Maybe it's a patented formula or something. So what country are you shopping in? Maybe knowing that will help. |

No, I can't get it in this country, so I probably have to make a trip to a neighbouring country where it is available. Or wear glasses for a while. What about saline solution, can that be used, or would that really be bad, as far as you know ? |

Perhaps they can tell you of a suitable substitute: http://bausch.custhelp.com/app/ask |

Thanks. I've also thought of this "solution" to solve my problem : change the conditioning solution in which the lenses are being stored once every two or three days, that would save me some time. How about that ? |

I'm not an eye doctor or any kind of expert, so I don't want to tell you anything that would be harmful. The obvious question would be: can you ask the eye doctor that prescribed your contact lenses to you? If not, is there a local eye doctor or contact lens store that you can contact? |

How did we do, jono? Did we give you the information you needed?
