Default In or Out With Boston Envision DMV Ultra?

I saw this tool on line and I thought I'd ask my friends at Lens 101 about it. It's called the DMV Ultra and it's used to insert and remove RGP contact lenses. If you have one of these neat tools, do you use it to put your Boston Envision in and take them out equally, or do you use the tool more often for one task than the other?

Hi, I use it mainly for taking them out. It seems more difficult to use it putting them in because basically you have to take the lens out of the case and place it on the plunger. Well u might as well put them in with your finger anyway.

Hi DDA1960,

So you can't pick up your contact lenses from the case with the DMV Ultra? How long have you been using yours? Would you recommend it to your friends here at Lens 101?

hi,, well you can but if your like me when u clean and put the lenses in your case with the curved side down and u take the plunger to get it out u still have to place the lens on the other side with your fingers lol or if u want to take the time and manuever the lens with the plunger which takes time to do ,,,trust me it's faster to put them in with your clean finger for me it is anyway

Have you thought about storing your contacts with the curved side up? Is there some reason why you can't store them that way? I always thought contacts should be stored like glasses--facing up.

Okay, when you say "put the lenses in your case with the curved side down" does that mean you set them in there like a bowl, or like a dome? Bowl, right?

Well dda1960. About six months have passed since you posted this reply. Do you still use the little blue thing to handle your contact lenses? It didn't seem like you were very pleased with it in June.

Default great tool

i think this is the greatest thing ever for RGP wearers, I sometimes use it to put my lenses in but always use it to take them out it, it is so easy to use.

That's awesome, Barry Miller. How did you find out about this gadget? Did you see it on line and decide to give it a try?

Oh, good to know you still use it sometimes. Do you just use your fingers to put your contacts in the rest of the time?
