Default Are Boston EO Contacts Good For Wearing 16 Hours a Day?

Hi, I had a question about Boston EO rigid gas permeable contact lenses. I was wondering of this type of contact lens can be worn for up to 16 hours a day, four or five days in a row.
I'm told the the Boston EO has a pretty high level of comfort for an RGP. Does that translate over a long day or series of long days?

That should not be a problem as long as your eyes are healthy. Of course, as always check with your eye doctor first before switching contacts.

Thanks for the cautiously worded answer. I just got finished reading an article about a very large drug company that has an online "community" that does not allow end users to give feedback to the company because, you know, some of that feedback might be negative.
I'm glad Lens 101 has members who word their replies carefully because that means that you believe that your post will be read and possibly followed. What more can an on line forum ask for?

I wear mine at least 14 or 15 hrs a day with no problem. Some days I wear them 16 or more hrs and I may have to put a few comfort drops in if my eyes are a bit dry. My doc told me if your eyes are healthy you should have no probs. Try it and "see" what happens. If your eyes can't handle it you have to take them out and wear your glasses or not wear anything and find it hard to see anything. How bad are your eyes ,what is your Rx and can you without contacts or glasses.

It's good that Lens 101 allows some negative feedback, as long as it's presented respectfully. I once heard someone say "You can disagree without being disagreeable."

Thanks for that very descriptive posting, Barry Miller. That's my favorite kind of answer. So what kind of "comfort drops" do you use with your Boston EO contact lenses?

I wear mine for about 16 to 17 hours. No problems at all. Then again I guess it depends on your eyes like others have stated.

You've checked with your eye doctor, right, and he or she is comfortable with your 16-17 hour daily schedule?

Yes, I have. He said it would fine. If there are any problems I should know immediately. And so far so good. ^^

RGP lenses tend to let you know when you have worn them enough .

I'm curious about your "comfort drops" Barry. What brand are they?

Default Everyone is Different

Probably depends on the person. I have fallen asleep in my lenses on many occasions. But I have been a lens wearer for eons. Probably far more tolerance.

Oops. I was just responding to comments about the wear-time for RGPs.

e.g. "BARRYMILLER" said ..."Some days I wear them 16 or more hrs and I may have to put a few comfort drops in if my eyes are a bit dry."

Thanks for clearing that up. Have you found that handy dandy "quote" button so you won't have to copy and paste?

Hmmm, I'm new here, but I'm a member of at least a dozen forums. Neither am I a newbie online period. I know the quote button well. I just chose to respond as I did. Seemed to better clarify my earlier point.

No major deal.

That's cool. I like that "Quote" button, myself. At this point I just click it automatically without even thinking about it. I guess AmigaBonita figured that the only reason someone would not used the "Quote" button was that they were not aware of it.

Back to the subject at hand. Do you ever use "comfort drops" like BARRYMILLER does? If so, what brand do you use?

That's more or less what I was thinking when I posted that, BoSoxFan. Thanks for trying to explain my forum behavior.

I hear that Aquify has a product called "Long-Lasting Comfort Drops."
