I don't suppose there's any chance of getting them back again, is there?

So the Cassini Division is made up of lost sunglasses? Are they all Cassini sunglasses, I wonder? I bet there are secret Voyager pictures out there.

I've been to Bermuda and I think I know how that triangle works. People go to Bermuda and don't want to leave!

Thanks, 3s Company. Watch out for that Asteroid Belt.

This has become a very silly thread . . . but I like it.

That sounds like a perfectly reasonable explanation. Perhaps I can get the Discovery Channel to sponsor a research expedition for me to go on. To . . . you know . . . find out more about his Bermuda Triangle thing.

You're going to need some help, Privateyes. This Bermuda Triangle thing is a very complex and dangerous task. I will selflessly volunteer to accompany you.

That's some good thinking, Privateyez. I can't argue with that.

Nice picture, but what are we going to do about all those Cassini sunglasses circling Saturn?

I'm not sure if there's anything we can do, Anazak, except maybe stop the insanity. Take care of your sunglasses, people. Maybe you should get one of those cords and wear then around your neck.

    Default Humorous Thread

I can't believe this little Cassini Division joke has gone on so long. This is a really fun thread and if you look at it, there's really not a serious question here. This whole thread is a joke.

    Carry on!

I still like the Saturn explanation better. As lovely as Bermuda and the surrounding area are, they still don't have "Cassini" in the name.

Here's a look at Mr. Cassini himself. He's described in the accompanying article as the "French-Italian astronomer who measured the period of rotation of Jupiter and issued a table of the motions of Jupiter's moons. He also discovered the moons of Saturn Iapetus (1671), Rhea (1672), Dione (1684), and Tethys (1684). Cassini discovered that Saturn's rings were divided by a dark gap. He also determined the parallax of Mars, which allowed the calculation of the distance to Mars and the Earth-Sun distance."

    What a smarty-pants.

That's right folks, from the sun-drenched shores of Bermuda, to the icy rings of Saturn, Lens 101 does what it takes to give you the answers you seek.
