Did coloured contacts even exist back when he was making movies? I wouldn't have thought so.

He might have, but that is interesting to ponder I suppose.

I personally don't think he did, but I could be wrong.

I thought Elvis already had brown eyes? Why would he wear contacts that colored his eyes the same color they already were?!

My first impression was to question whether there were coloured contact lenses back then too.

I don't really remember, but I'll bet Elvis and Hollywood would have had access to them way before we consumers would.

I think he wore contacts in many of his films, except when his eyes wear bright Elvis blue coloured.

That's a good point. Did people wear colored contact lenses in the 70's? Even celebrity big shots?

As far as I know Elvis has blue eyes, I've heard that he wore brown contacts for a movie or two but I think colored contacts weren't even invented until the 1980's

In this picture here Mr. Presley appears to have brown eyes. Would you believe it was very difficult to find this picture. When searching for pictures of Elvis Presley's eye color, one must be sure a) it's actually Elvis and not an impersonator b) it's a color picture a c) you can see his eyes clearly. Here's what I finally came up with:

Are you sure that his eyes weren't colored in the film afterwards though? I know they did that for Marilyn Monroe to make her eyes look blue--colored contact lenses seem a little advanced for the time period--especially since it's difficult to get your hands on a realistic looking lens even now!

I don't know why Elvis would want to make his eyes brown with contacts, but you never know about those Hollywood types. I also find it hard to believe that someone would take it upon themselves to color his eyes in every color picture of him.
Then again, you never know about those Hollywood types . . .

Well they didn't have colored lenses back then, and all photos were released by the studio--so it isn't unbelievable that they would be colored--it is well known that Marilyn Monroe had hers colored, and the public was so convinced that her hazel eyes were actually blue that when Michelle Williams played her in a movie she wore blue lenses over her hazel eyes

From http://elviscollector.info:

Height: 6'1
Hair Color: Brown (light and blondish sometimes called "dishwater brown") but he dyed his hair Black

Blood Type: 0 positive
Weight: 168 to 250 ( his weight increased after 1975 )
Eye Color: Blue

Bear in mind that this website also says "Simply put Elvis Presley was the GREATEST recording artist, entertainer, and (yes it is true – using the criteria that each of his movies MADE money which no other 'actor/actress' can claim) actor…ever."

Something tells me that the information on this website may not be impartial, or even very accurate.

Lol true, many Marilyn Monroe sites say the same-but her driver's license and earlier pictures tell a different story---I'm not sure what Elvis' eye color was naturally--I just don't know why the studio would color his eyes brown in a photo, when it is well known that blue eyes were preferred in Hollywood (and continue to be)
It is certainly possible that he had blue eyes though

Who knows. Maybe someone took a survey and found that women preferred men with brown eyes.
As LittleElvis himself said "you never know about those Hollywood types."

What we need is an Official Historian from the Elvis Presley Estate to join us here and give us the real story.
