I found these five inch tweezers in a magazine and they say they're supposed to help with the handling of contact lenses. Does that mean you can use these for putting your contacts in and taking them out? They say that these have cone-shaped silicone tips, but I'd still be nervous about getting these near my eyes. Can you really hurt yourself if your hand slips or something and the tweezers touch or even tap your eye?

Hi Guinness,
I'm afraid I can't remember what happened to Jessy's post. I checked the Member's List and there's no "Jessy" there. (Time for some spooky music.) The good news I found a website about that Contact 2 lens removal system. Here's what it says: "Contact2 is a revolutionary yet amazingly simple device. It is a flexible double-pronged pincer that fits comfortably into the hand. It's patented; specially designed tips grip and remove the lens without damage to either eye or lens. What's more... you can view the procedure at all times - your view is not obstructed." Below you can see the little "comic strip" from the site demonstrating how it's used, as well as a close up of the gizmo itself. |
