ClearSight 1 Day contacts come in a base curve of 8.7, and that's it. Obviously not everyone on the planet wears a base curve of 8.7. Is there any kind of leeway on this measurement, like wearing a pair of jeans that's a little snug? They may be a few inches smaller than your regular size, but you can still wear them. Is it the same with contact lenses?

My eye doctor gave me a prescription for ClearSight One Day lenses but the prescription says base curve 8.6.
Naturally I cannot find these at any of the online retailers since apparently that size does not exist. I do not want to go back to that doctor because the staff is very pushy and rude and trying to sell things. I almost think they wrote the prescription wrong on purpose so that I wouldn't be able to buy contacts anywhere else. This prescription is only 4 months old so hard to believe the other sizes have been discontinued. They gave me some sample lenses, but the lens package doesn't say the base curve size on them. Is it really the case that Clear Sight 1 day contacts only come in 8.7, not 8.6 base curve? |

You can probably get away with wearing an 8.7 base curve, but if your eye doctor gives you a prescription that says 8.6, they company--if they're any good--will contact your doctor and confirm your prescription. It sounds to me like your doctor would not cooperate. So you might want to find a different brand or find a different doctor. Let us know what you decide to do and if you have any further questions, all right? |

So if a patient is not an 8.7 base curve, you don't recommend they wear ClearSight 1 Day contacts?
