I'm always fascinated by the names that the Marketing Department gives to the contact lenses. "ClearSight." They're not called "ComfyLens" or "SofTouch" or "BudgetLens" or something. So they want you to know that they will give you clear sight, but all contact lenses do that, I hope. Do these lenses give you exceptionally clear sight?

Right. The name is "ClearSight." Not "ClearestSight" or "ClearerThanAnyOtherLens" or "PerfectSight."

So I don't see any legal issues here. Sadly, this is the best result I got from a search for Delta's catch phrase: |

That's good to know, Havoc.
So is everybody here okay with the ClearSight name? How about the "1 day" part? You don't wear them any longer than that, do you? |

I would hope that having "1 Day" as part of the name would be all they would need, but you know how humans are.

The same logic applies. Just because the lens can be, and is marketed to be, worn on a daily disposable basis doesn't necessarily mean it's the only way to wear the lens. Same thing with clothing. The requirement is the care label identify one way to clean the garment. It doesn't mean the way suggested on the care label is the only acceptable way to clean a garment. Some items which say dry clean only can be safely washed. The phrase means dry clean is the only way the manufacture is willing to suggest. |
