Default Daily disposable contacts for astigmatism?

Does anyone know of any good one-day disposable lenses for people with astigmatism?

I know Focus Dailies makes toric lenses, but I heard that they really dry your eyes out and are harder to remove, so I was looking for something by Acuvue. I looked on their website, and I can't find any that are daily disposables (just the 2-week kinds). I heard that they do make 1-day Acuvue for Astigmatism in other countries, though. Do they not have them in America?

Daily disposable contacts represent the ultimate in convenience - wear them for a day, and then throw them away.
These lenses are ideal for busy people who don't have time to clean and care for their lenses.
Doctors say these are the healthiest lenses you can wear, and they are ideal for people who have allergies.
There are three major brands of daily disposables: Focus Dailies from Ciba, 1-day Acuvue from Vistakon, and Soflens 1-day from Bausch & Lomb, and now Ciba has introduced a daily-disposable for astigmatism - the Focus Dailies Toric.

Good answer, Anu. I couldn't have said it better myself.

More the convenience , more the price...So its not affordable by all...

Anu asked about three daily lenses: Focus Dailies from Ciba, 1-day Acuvue from Vistakon, and Soflens 1-day from Bausch & Lomb. Do you have any opinions as to which of these lenses is best?

Yes, they're cleverly called Focus Dailies Toric.

I have been trying to find a daily or 2 week lens due to having trouble making Biofinity's last ( as fas as comfort goes ) a full month...I received a trial set ( 10 lenses for each eye ) of Focus Dailies Torics yesterday and will be throwing 9 for each eye away today. These things REALLY suck in a sticky way. I put them in and immediately my eyes started drying out and felt like they were being "pulled or tightened" by the lenses. I wore them for 2 hours and decided enough. Now that's only my 2 cents and others may love them so read others opinions for sure. Also tried Acuvue Oasys for a 2 week lens and they just felt too big and too thick for me but overall view was decent....So there ya go !!!

Thanx K-9....and for the moment the Biofinity's are out front. They're not a daily or weekly but so far everything else has fallen behind. I'll definitely post if/when I find my perfect lens, trust me.

Very good. I wish you success in your search. As the Klingons say: "May you always find a Bloodworm in your glass."

No wait, that was the wrong one. Let me try again.

"May your co-ordinates be free of tribbles."

You know what? Forget the Klingon toasts.

Good, I'm glad you found something that works, even if they're not perfect.

Yea, I'm not too sure I'm really hip on bloodworms in my drinks, but always willing to give anything in alcohol a try....
And I think my dr is going to keep looking for something else but Biofinity's are winning at the moment.....

So what are the good points and bad points of the Biofinity lenses from where you see it? It sounds to me like you're not quite sold.

Still are not really too comfortable after more than 8-10 hours but my MAIN concern has been their longevity to lasting a full month for me....They always seem to last a good 2 weeks, then I can tolerate them another week, and after that they're horrible as far as comfort goes...So in my opinion, they're more of a 2 week lens but then the price would go way up....That's my main problem; lasting more than 2 weeks as far as comfort goes....

Sorry to hear about your discomfort. Have you discussed this with your eye doctor? Maybe he or she can recommend some kind of eye drops or something that will allow you to wear your monthly lenses for a month.

I have and he said he can only wear his lenses for 4 hours at a time due to his dry eye syndrome......but he mentioned that from what he could tell my eyes were not too dry and that a good Blink N Clean or similar would help but that I might just have to get an extra box for each eye.....
And being they are the most comfortable overall initially and for 2-3 weeks, what's a guy to do ?????

Okay, I'm a little slow sometimes, so bear with me. Your monthly lenses feel good for about three weeks, and then they start feeling dry. Your eye doctor suggested Blink N Clean, but in your case, you might need to use a lot of it. My question is, if you will only need the drops every fourth week, why would you need extra?

Well....it's more like after 2 weeks if you wanna get technical so getting an extra box would actually be better than buying bottles of Blink N Clean.....Hey, I'm sure I could actually MAKE them last a month and wear them for a month but it gets kind of uncomfortable after 2 weeks and really uncomfortable after 3, so he recommended the drops. I use drops anyhow and to save $$$ he said I could try using them instead of another box of lenses for each eye...That's the jist of it.

Thanks for the question, PTUser. I was a bit confused myself.

Thank you aggiedude for making yourself clear. I think if I were you I'd rather use drops than suffer through increasingly uncomfortable lenses for a week or more.

So would you say it's a good thing to have an eye doctor who also has dry eyes? It might be nice to have the doctor sympathize with your discomfort, but I would hope that he or she would have found a way to wear lenses comfortably even with the dry eyes.

He said he's still trying to find an answer for his dry eyes w/o any kind of surgical procedure, but that he plays alot of basketball and wears them for that a lot and wishes he could wear them all the time......
Nice guy and definitely know he's at least trying to get me squared away...

It sounds like his dry eyes are working to your advantage. Let's hope you both are able to find a viable solution.
