Default No Other Brands for Me

In this day and age, there doesn't seem to be a lot of brand loyalty any more. If you were to ask someone what brand of dish detergent they use, most of them will say "I just buy whatever's on sale."
Are you the exception when it comes to color contact lenses? Is there a certain brand that you like and you've never even thought about asking your eye doctor about a different kind?

I guess that proves my point about brand loyalty.

How's it going catt? Do you wear color contacts these days? If so, what brands have you tried? You're obviously not exclusive to one brand, but do you have a favorite?

Do you guys wear colored contact lenses regularly?

I can't say that I notice them on the people I know, which either means they don't wear them or the lenses look so natural I don't notice them.

I'd think if you changed colors regularly with different brands, it would become obvious to people who know you - Not that it has to be a secret, of course.

Wow, I feel so special, that you would wait for my reply. LOL. Gotta tell ya, out of all the different brands that I have tried, I would -- at this point in time -- choose FreshLook Colors. So far, they have been the most comfortable and despite what my "violet eyes that mesmorize" pic. shows, (on other posts) they are not that fake looking. The blue ones are more subtle and realistic; however, I will admit it -- I want to be noticed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW, I have two boxes of Blue Topaz FreshLook Blends - TORIC - that I absoutely HATE!!!!!! Can't wear them and can't take them back! Hey I am screwed at both ends (if ya know what I mean) ROTFLMAO. Not only that, I have a current prescription for frigging TORIC lenses - not for regular ones. Gee, let me do the math. Am using the last two regular Blue Topaz Expressions lenses right now. Somehow, don't think they will make it till 2010. Wow, I guess I am doubly screwed - if there is even such a saying!!!!!

Hey, we're ALL special here on Lens 101.

What is it you don't like about the Blue Topaz lenses? Are they uncomfortable or do you just hate the color? Or is it that you somehow wound up with toric lenses and you don't have astigmatism? If that's the case, how did you get a prescription for toric contact lenses?

You may be able to sell the toric lenses on eBay, although I don't know how they'd feel about selling medical devices like contact lenses. I know Lens 101 frowns upon that sort of thing, so I wouldn't recommend trying to unload them here.

I don't know how long Expressions contacts are designed to last, but you may be able to save them into next year if you wear them very sparingly. contact lens shelf life is determined by how many times you wear them, rather than how much time passes after you break the seal. So if these are 30 day lenses, you can wear them 30 times before tossing them.

I hope that helps, catt.

What made you decide you liked Soloticas best? You say they look "natural" so what does that mean?

Don't order your contact lenses from Amazon. That's for books. Order from Lens.com.

I think I know what you mean, and if you mean what I think you do, shame on you.

If you don't . . . shame on me.

i was always loyal to ciba Illusions, because they were not dot matrix and had a very natural appearance. they were annuals so i did not have to re-order often. now that they are discontinued i have to find another brand obviously, but otherwise i would still be wearing them.

i ordered a pair from fxeyes which are stunning, but they are too light compared to what i'm used to with the illusions. the search continues!

Have you checked the selection at Lens.com? They recommend "replacing Illusions with newer technologies such as FreshLook ColorBlends."
