Default Natural Touch vs. Durasoft 3 Colors

I have been wearing Natural Touch for years, and have tried every shade. I currently am wearing Natural Touch Sultry Gray. The problem I am having is that I have slight astigmatism in both eyes, and Natural Touch does not make a toric lens. I am due to see my eye doc today for a new Rx and I am afraid he will tell me my astigmatism has gotten worse and I can no longer wear Natural Touch. I have heard good things about Durasoft 3 Optifit Toric Colors. Does anyone wear these lenses and if so how do you like them? Comparison in "real" eye color change vs. Natural Touch? I have found the Sultry Gray to be very good at completely changing my dark brown eyes. I looked up some online photos and the Durasoft 3 looked a bit fake in the pics but seemed un -retouched. Any opinions or comments would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Looks like you have your choice of Durasoft 3 Optifit color contacts. You've got your Durasoft 3 Optifit Toric - ColorBlends, Colors, and Complements. Have you decided which one of these you'd like to try?

I think the Colors would be right for me because I am interested in a dramatic change from light to dark but I don't want my eyes to look unnatural. I haven't seen pics of the colorblends but I will do a search. Thanks for your help.

You say you have dark eyes, so when you say "from light to dark" you mean you want light color contacts, like gray? The Durasoft lenses have a Misty Gray that is pictured below.

Right that is what I meant. Thanks for the pic - that is the look I am going for. I find gray looks more natural than blue to lighten the eyes.

Way to go Amiga Bonita.

Let us know when you get your gray lenses and post some pictures, okay goldenspenz? Have you posted pictured here before?

I have posted here before Jawa. I was able to talk to my doc about staying with the Natural Touch Sultry Gray, which I am happy with and comfortable with so I am relieved I didn't have to switch to Durasoft 3 even though I have heard it is an excellent lens. I have some photos of myself in the Natural Touch on my profile - and for now I am sticking with non - Toric lenses. Thanks for everyone's help!

I checked your profile and looked at your picture. The gray contacts looked nice. I never really thought of gray as an eye color, but the ones you're wearing look pretty good. Why not post those pictures here in the thread where everyone can see and admire them?

I would like to do that Eyeofthetiger, but I only have those pics on my profile and do not know how to re post them on the thread. If you know how to do that I would put up the pics of me in the gray lenses. Yes it is very rare to see gray eyes on a person naturally, but to most they appear to be some kind of light blue, and are more neutral so as not to pop out as artificially on dark hair/eyed people like me compared to a blue lens. These (the Natural Touch Sultry Gray) actually seem to take on the color of my clothing a bit as well (i.e. wearing a blue or green shirt seems to alter the appearance of the shade). Great for people with very dark brown eyes! I will try to copy and paste those pics from my profile but I'm not sure if I'll be able to.

Default Forming Attachments

It looks like you were able to post a couple of pictures, but you had to put each one in a new post. Here are the instructions as given in the FAQ section of Lens 101.

How do I add an image to a post?

If you have uploaded an image as an attachment, you can click the arrow next to the 'Attachment Icon' and select it from the list. This will be inserted into your post and can be located where you want it displayed.

To include an image that is not uploaded as an attachment and is located on another website, you can do so by copying the full URL to the image, (not the page on which the image is located), and either pressing the 'Insert Image' icon or by typing after it, ensuring that you do not have any spaces before or after the URL of the image.

Let me know if you have any more questions. If these directions aren't detailed enough, I or someone else reading this post can tell you step by step.

Thanks very much for the help Wheatgrass. I was curious, how does someone move up on this site, and what do the different "classes" or levels mean (i.e. Freshman, Junior... etc.)?

Hi goldenspenz.

The class rankings are simply a way of showing how many times you've posted something on Lens 101. You start out as a Freshman, then after you've posted X number of messages you move up to Sophomore, and so on. I couldn't find any information about the actual numbers, but I would imagine you can move up to Sophomore level with something like 20 or 50 posts. Looks like you're still a Freshman with 16 posts.

I, however, have earned a Bachelor's Degree with 424 posts. Of course, I've been on this forum since December of 2007.

A good way to move up in the rankings is to answer other people's questions, so you don't have to deal with all that tedious thinking of new questions. Do you like sunglasses? How about eyeglasses? There's a whole section here about eyeglasses that's pretty much all questions waiting for an answer. Go for it!

Now you have a purpose in life!

Thank you for that information, Garfield21. Hopefully it will motivate Lens 101 members to add more to the forum in order to move up in the ranks.
