I want to try some color contacts, the FreshLook Dimensions ones. But the diameter is 14.5 and my prescription is 13.8 in diameter.
The base curve is the same as my prescription but the diameter is bigger, is it okay to buy them or will it effect my eyes? |

it doesnt really matter if it's smaller i guess, but i bought my Solotica hidrocors which are the ones with no limbal ring and my diameter is i guess a little bigger so it looks more like the solotica nc or hidrocharme

I checked lens.com and FreshLook One Day contacts come in a base curve of 8.6 and a diameter of 13.8. The color choices are Blue, Green, Gray, and Pure Hazel. Check them out here: http://www.lens.com/contact-lenses/lens423.asp If those don't suit you, look around lens.com a little. I saw a few color contacts that come in a diameter of 14.0, which may work for you. Let me know if you find anything you like, okay? |

lens diameter really is a personal issue. Most colored lenses come in a standard diameter for that color and color line. So if Acuvue has them in 13.8, they are smaller than 14.5 that Freshlooks have, so personally when I wear the Acuvue, they just dont enhance my eyes as Freshlook does. Freshlooks cover the whole eye and make my eyes look bigger and I like more. So for me 13.8 doesn't work well.

It's more that a "personal issue." It's fit issue. You couldn't wear the wrong size contact lens any more than you could wear the wrong sized shoes. If you wear a size 5 and a certain brand of shoes only came in sizes 7-10, you would either have to have a pair specially made or find a different brand. That or schlep around in the wrong size. |
