Solotica 'Ocre' - I'd go Hidrocharme, for the pretty outter ring. But the hidrocor and natural colours still makes a very natural light brown. x

Let me just say EW FRESHLOOK SUCKS!! I suppose it's better than nothing, but the pupil hole comes to an abrupt (large) stop, which looks fake because it doesn't blend. And the pattern just sits on top like a really fake piece of plastic. Hehe I was in love with freshlook greens for a while myself, but once you try Solotica/Waicon/Fxeyes etc, there's absolutely no going back to that rubbish. And they only last for a month - bad value hehe.
Make sure you most photos of whichever ones you choose! xx

Whoa, that's kind of harsh.

What kind of lenses are these, now? You say they're "FreshLook" but Lens.com offers about 8 different lenses that have "FreshLook" in the name. "EW" doesn't really help either because there are no FreshLook "EW" or "Extended Wear" contacts listed.

Do we have anyone who is going to leap to the defense of FreshLook contact lenses, or do you agree with esnutaliah?

Sorry to offend, Jubert. I take it freshlook must be the only brand you've ever tried. Actually there is a worse brand - expressions by coopervision is worse, but that's about it.

They're probably doing enough business off their clear prescription lenses I suppose.

My boyfriend works at an Optometrist, and he says that there are $500-600 colour contacts that look really natural. And they're not fxeyes or 9mmsfx. I was like "How could I not know about this? I've spent the past years of my life trying to find the best ones"... Should I pry him for more knowledge??? I'll keep you updated!
I think they must have been designed for those people that have really disfigured looking eyes but can still see maybe?

We still don't know which FreshLook contacts there were, do we? Like Jubert pointed out, there are about 8 different "FreshLook" contacts out there. I'd like to know which ones you hate so much so we can either avoid them or say "they're not that bad."
You say you don't like them because they look fake, but are they at least comfortable? You're not crazy about how they look, but how do they feel?

Default $600 contacts???

Wow, I wanna know. Wont buy them cuz I be broke But I am curious. The colored contact lens market is not a huge one. So wonder what they are. I have seen Fx eyes on youtube. They are not that great. they seem super bright and fake looking. Only good thing is they have small pupil openeing but that will look strange at night when everyones pupil is large except the fx eyes how funny

At the top of this thread you said that you've tried "Freshlook Honey ColorBlend and pure Hazel [and] Acuvue as well." Would you recommend any of those, or are you still trying to find color contacts that you like?

No Acuvue. It just doesnt work for me and the lens is small (Over all Dimater). I love Freshlook Purehazel on brown eyes, Gemstone Green and Honey is lighter than Freshlook Pure Hazel.

Acuvue is good in pearl Gray and Blue Sapphire

hehe well, I've used freshlook sterling grey, green and grey. And seen enough pictures of all other colours to arrest my case. And while they are comfortable, they are foggy and I can't wear them for long. Which is not the case for Waicon and Solotica. All I can assume is that you don't have brown eyes? Because while all we both have is our opinion - I would be embarrassed to ever step outside in a freshlook contact lense ever again.

I'm glad you've found some color contacts that you like. Thanks for the recommendation. Do you have any pictures of yourself and your contact lenses here on Lens 101?

Wow! Six hundred dollars? How long do these super lenses last?

I don't know much about color contact lenses, but I can look at the prices at Lens.com. If you want something that looks natural, try FreshLook ColorBlends. They come in a dozen different colors including Amethyst, Green, Honey and Turquoise. You can buy a box of six lenses for $27 at Lens.com. Of course, you'll probably need two boxes so that will bring up your price to $34, and I bet they look just as nice as those six hundred dollar contacts, although the $34 price tag may add an extra sparkle. As they say on the commercials--here's where to order: http://www.lens.com/contact-lenses/lens254.asp

Thanks for that valuable information. Spongebob. It's good to know that there's a lower cost alternative to those six hundred dollar contact lenses.

Yeah, no kidding. They should also give you the power of mind control like a Whirling Hypno-Coin for that kind of dough.

Jubert said that this post was "harsh", but look again. There are two x's at the end of the posting, so that makes it okay.

I can say I disagree... Ive been wearing freshlook for over ten years...Colorblends are nice, I just want a change now, I don't want to die my hair again so figured I'd try new contacts. FreshLook ColorBlends in grey worked for me...I like that they have a couple colors mixed in them.

Okay, cool. Thanks. What is it about the FreshLooks and that you like better than Expressions? Which "Acuvue" lenses are the ones that are "not bad"?

Freshlooks are thin +comfy and color isnt that bad. I love the Pure Hazel and gemstone green on my brown eyes.
The Expressions have this strange brush stroke design on them that looks sooo fake. The colors are limited and the pupil hole is way too small. Ugly lens!
But The acuvue colors are thin and comfy, colors are OK . I like the Acuvue Green, looks natural like army green on brown eyes

Thanks for your review, loveme. I'm sure the people at Expressions contacts will appreciate it.

Solotica came out with a new line of colored contacts called Hidrosummer Gloss, and the one in Ocre looks georgeous. I know this is a bad picture, but if you youtube "Solotica Hidrosummer Gloss" and watch one of the videos by LensAddict, the color looks stunning to me, like a very unique golden brown.
Here's the youtube video and skip to 3:37: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgOD71LGv_w

Wow. I'm glad sk8terboi asked for a picture. You're really pretty.

You know, if you're strapped for cash you might want to investigate Freshlook Pure Hazel. You can buy them at Lens.com just by clicking that red button up there.

FreshLook ColorBlends has Pure Hazel lenses, and they're about $30 for a box of 6. If you're like 99% of the population and have a different prescription in each eye, of course you will need two boxes.

If you prefer daily disposables, FreshLook One-Day (also known as Focus Dailies SoftColors) also has Pure Hazel lenses. They will set you back about twenty bucks per box of 30.

You can give those a try, and if you like them, great. If not, you still have the option of getting the Solotica lenses.

I'm anxious to see your Pure Hazel eyes, Kamille206. I hope you won't keep us waiting for long.

Bootz is right you know. About your being really pretty, and about saving money with the FreshLook ColorBlends. You could always switch "if for some reason you're not completely satisfied."

@Bootz thanks for the compliment lol.
I'd definitely look into the Freshlook Hazel, without prescriptions. I've seen pictures of them on other people, and their pretty good too, but in time we'll see which ones I'll get Freshlook Hazel or Solotica Hidrosummer Gloss Ocre.

Wow. It looks like your picture is a big hit around here, Kamille206.

I wanted to ask you about something you posted earlier. You said "I'd definitely look into the Freshlook Hazel, without prescriptions." I thought you needed a prescription for any contact lenses your ordered. Did you get a special dispensation from the Pope or something?
I'm looking forward to seeing those FreshLook contact lenses on you. Since Lens.com sponsors this site, I hope that people who order from them will have a positive experience.

Keep on smiling.

Oh thanks....I'm pretty sure anybody'd be a hit on here if they would just post their picture showing their contacts lol.
Actually about the prescriptions, that is one of the reasons I ordered Solotica. I found out you can order them online, so I got one of my contacts from outside the U.S., in Argentina. It wasn't illegal technically, because I ordered it through a guy, Daniel Gorsd, that made the orders from the company near where he lives and he actually wears prescriptions, so it was like he was ordering it with my money, if that makes any sense at all. Its like giving your money to a close friend that wears prescriptions and picking your choice of color.(He's very trustable!)
So, in the beginning I was going to order Freshlook, but after much research, I decided on Solotica/Waicon, especially because I didn't really need a doctors prescription. Also, if consider how long both brands (Solotica and Waicon) last, about a year, the price evens out.

If you're going to say that you didn't like "EW FreshLook" contacts on a forum such as this, it would help to be more specific, so people can judge for themselves. Were they FreshLook ColorBlends, Colors, or Dimension? To say "EW FRESHLOOK SUCKS!!" would be like telling your friends "When you go to that restaurant, whatever you do, don't order the pasta! It's awful!" Do you mean all the pasta, or just the fettuccine Alfredo? Are you saying that all Freshlook Extended Wear lenses should be avoided?

That's a great picture. You have a beautiful smile, but the picture is a bit blurry. You might get some members paranoid that their contact lenses aren't working. How about a sharper picture where we can really see your eyes and your smile?

Okay here are better pics, quality is little bit better, not blurry, but not hd.

The 1st pic is Waicon Trikolor Azul, ehh the Blue is not my favorite, I guess I just prefer green lenses over blue. In this photo though, it looks more like the Waicon Trikolor Gray.
The 2nd pic is up close eyeball shot of the Waicon Trikolor Azul lol.
The 3rd pic is Waicon Azul and Solotica Hidrocor Mel doubled, but it was only practice and I NEVER tried it again lol. Not safe and not recommended! Oh yea, that was me with red hair, wasn't really liking it, went back to my black hair.

1st Pic: SORRY TO GET ALL UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL, THE QUALITY IS "EHHH", BLAME IT ON MY CAMERA LOL

2nd Pic: Up close eyeball of Waicon Trikolor Azul, its okay, I guess I like green better, or my Solotica Hidrocor Mel

3rd Pic: This is a "Damn these contacts hurt!" photo lol. No no for doubling contacts for me, but if you want to know, I doubled Solotica Hidrocor Mel OVER Waicon Trikolor Azul(Blue).

Wow, you look totally different in this picture. Did you get a tan? I like the red/brown hair, but you're right, the black hair is better.

What happened to that pretty smile? Are the contacts uncomfortable? It's a nice color.

Oh, I don't know Kamille. There are people who have posted their pictures on Lens 101 but didn't get this kind of response.

Ordering contact lenses through a middle-man sounds like a lot of trouble to go through. I hope it works for you.

So tell me why you like Soloticas better than Freshlook (besides the price). It seems like Soloticas are very popular on this forum, even though the sponsor doesn't sell them.

PS . . . in case there are others out there like me, I looked it up and "trustable" is indeed a word, even if Spell Check doesn't think so.

Yes, those contact lenses are a beautiful color. In that picture they look very natural. Wouldn't you agree, Lens 101 members?

Yes, Jubert. I would agree that Kamille206's contacts are a beautiful color.

That's what you were saying, right?

Welcome aboard lilyo.
Yes, it's true, you need at least 15 posts before you can post pictures here. Don't worry though. You can get that many in no time. Probably the quickest way is to answer some questions that are already here. Perhaps in your all-night research session you found the answers to some people's questions.

This website has quite a few pictures of Solotica lenses, even though the sponsor doesn't sell them.

I found the word "ochre" twice on Lens 101, but neither mention came with a picture.

I agree with you that if I'm going to look at a picture of someone wearing contacts that I'm thinking of buying, I'd rather see a snapshot of a regular person than an airbrushed model.
