Okay so I got some Coopervision Expressions from lens.com about two months ago, and I have to say, I have never had a problem with lenses tearing like these do! And I have worn this brand before. I ordered 2 boxes of 6 (12 lenses) and I have two lenses in each box left, 4 lenses! I went through (including the ones I am currently wearing) 8 lenses in 2 months, and I usually wear 1 pair a month! I have read that sometimes this happens when you order lenses online since they may have been exposed to heat or cold longer than those you get from an eye-doctor. Does anyone know anything about this or why this might be happening?

But it is possible that you have a bad batch of lenses, which are prone to tearing (assuming you haven't changed anything else, got damaged nails, etc.) Best to contact the supplier (lens.com) and explain that these lenses seem to be defective/different and unusual in your long experience of wearing these contact lenses. Maybe you need to talk to CooperVision directly, though they seem reluctant to talk to wearers directly. You should keep the damaged lenses and a set of unused lenses plus the Batch numbers so they can investigate. knotlob |

I'm sorry you got such fragile lenses from lens.com. I've been surfing this forum a long time and I haven't heard a lot of complaints like yours, so I'd like to think it's just "one of those things." Knotlob has the right idea, and you should definitely contact lens.com and tell them about your torn lenses. Their Satisfaction Guarantee says "At Lens.com we guarantee that you will receive the exact type and brand of contact lenses specified in your order and confirmed by your eye doctor's prescription. Each pair will arrive sealed in manufacturer's packaging or your entire purchase will be refunded. We also guarantee that all contact lenses will be delivered free of any manufacturer defects or we will replace them at no additional cost." You can contact their Customer Service department at 1-800 LENS.COM (536-7266). Please let us know what happens. I'd like to know if they take care of this to your satisfaction. I wish you well. |
