Question Serious Question about colored contacts

I just started wearing colored contacts, the solotica hidrocor mel, and their amazing, they really make anybody that would wear it look like a different person. I use to just brush it off as having fun and playing alias, but I don't know how to react when I fool people into thinking its my real eyes lol. I've gotten a few compliments on the eyes from strangers and what not, but lol regardless of having fun with my looks, I feel really fake. I'm not a materialistic or makeup hoarder type of girl(with all respect to the makeup lovers/gurus) but its like an overly superficial feeling. I dunno just venting lol, don't mind me.
Guess I'll just keep playing Alias and roll with it(and put on a fake awkward smile as I accept their compliments)

I can't help but wonder why you got colored contacts in the first place. It sounds like you're getting just reaction you were hoping for, right? I think most people would like to wear colored contacts and get compliments and have people think that the color is natural. If you feel bad about fooling people, maybe you can respond to a complement by saying something like "Do you like them? They're Solotica contact lenses."

They do look nice on you, by the way.

lol Your totally right, thats exactly what I wanted[the reaction I wanted too) to be honest, but somewhere along the way I guess feelings changed. I'm wierd like that lol. Yeaa, but I haven't worn them as much as when I first got them.
Hey now I have something to say to people now when they compliment my contacts, lol. I was seriously trying to come up with a smart comeback, like, "Ohhh thanks, ehhh their not mines though. [then comes the awkward smile]"

There's a post on this forum somewhere from a woman who wanted to get rid of a guy who was hitting on her. He said she had beautiful eyes and she said, "Here, you can have `em," and gave him her contacts and walked away.

Funny joke.
Expensive, but funny.

I suppose this would be a bad time to make a sexist comment about women changing their mind so often . . .

Is that you making a face there, Kamille206? Has that helped you cope with people being fooled by your contact lenses?

As far as Wookiee74's "sexist" comment, I'm not a woman, but I'm glad that Wookiee put it in the context of a "maybe I shouldn't say this" joke.

Huh??? What do you mean, is that how I cope with fooling people?
I was just trying to put it in a light joking manner.
And when people do ask me if I'm wearing contacts, I say "Of course, I just wear it for fun," but when people don't ask thats when I just let it slide.
So should I just go up to everybody that looks at my eyeballs and say, "Hey, would you mind not looking at my eyeballs, their totally fake and I'm wearing the Solotica colored contacts, so I don't want to fool you. Thanks." lol

I don't know what herbking was thinking when "he" said something about making that face to cope with fooling people. Maybe "he" thinks it's a very cute look that might distract them.

I like your disclosure policy. To paraphrase the US military: If they don't ask, don't tell. If people ask you directly, then answer them truthfully. That sounds quite reasonable.

Hey Chelsee, thanksss for backing me and understanding where I'm coming from, means alot, lol.
99% of the time people don't ask if I'm wearing contacts, so "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," right, Thank you!
Hopefully the day comes on the Lens101 Forum, when I can back you up in some kind of debate/argument/disagreement lol.

How did that picture get there? It's in the copy of the posting, but not in the posting itself.

Is that a picture of Kamille206?

How are things going for you lately, Kamille206? Have you gotten used to people thinking that your contact lenses are your real color? Like others have said before, if you don't verbally say "this is my true eye color" than you're not deceiving anyone. I guess it's like when some stranger walks up to you and says "Suzie! How are you? Oh, wait. You're not Suzie. Sorry." It's not your fault that someone thought for a moment you looked like Suzie. You didn't lie and say you [i]were[i] Suzie, someone just was mistaken.

Does that make sense? I hope that when someone compliments you on your eyes you can thank them with a genuine smile and accept their compliment.
