Question Best place to buy?

My friend in London bought colour contact lenses from zenlens.co.uk and she told me that they are quite good. Has anyone here used them before? They seem professional, but just wanted to make sure before I make my purchase.

Hi hkhalid, and welcome to Lens 101.

I checked out that link you posted, and it looks like the only sell a few brands, and I've never heard of any of them. I did a search for "Acuvue" and came up with nothing. Same thing with "Bausch & Lomb." So I'd be hesitant to order from a website that only sells "off" brands.

My advice would be to click on the bright red banners on this page and order from Lens.com. They have contact lenses with trusted names like Acuvue, Focus Dailies and FreshLook.

I'm glad you got what you wanted quickly and at a good price. Still, if I'm going to order something like contact lenses on line, I'd rather order from a site that sells a good variety of national brands at good prices.

Haha, you seem more brand conscience than my mom. If you're getting the same or better quality product for a good price, why should the brand matter? As they say... if you take the Nike logo off the shirt, its just another cheap shirt made in India.

Oh, I don't know about that, JennyP. I'm sure that's true in a lot of cases, but if you get a cheap Nike T-shirt made in India, it's not going to cause you pain, like cheaply made contacts would.

I'd be curious to know what an eye doctor here in the States thinks about lenses from this zen lens place. It would be very interesting if she could look at your "Romantic Blue Three Tone" contacts and say "Oh, these are FreshLook ColorBlends" or whatever.

Or maybe "Where did you get these lousy lenses from, a flea market? I'm going to take them out right now before they scar your corneas."

Sounds like a good idea to get them checked. I've been using contact lenses for the past 6 years and these zenlens brand seem pretty good so far. I haven't had any problems yet. Do let me know if you show them to an eye doctor in US.

You make a good point Beckifera. Contact lenses are known by many brands sometimes. I can't think of any examples right now, so perhaps on of my friends on Lens 101 can help me out. Can anyone give me some aliases of the lenses sold on Lens.com?
It is possible that these Romantic Blue contacts have a better known brand name in the States and/or Europe, so we can't count then out just yet.

Just . . . don't forget who sponsors this useful and informative forum here. (For a hint, look at the big red banners.)

Not that there's anything wrong with T-shirts from India . . .

Yes, I'd be interested to know what an American doctor thinks as well.

Who here has actually ordered contact lenses from Lens.com? Do they do a pretty good job of delivering your contact lenses to you quickly and undamaged?

Let's not forget that this thread is about JennyP007 and her/his cheap contacts from zenlens. I hope this isn't a case of "you get what you pay for."

So did you get a good, reputable brand of contact lenses?

I never could trust off-brands.

It's been a few months since we've heard from you Jenny. Are you still a satisfied customer?

I hope that silence is golden in this case and that JennyP007 is living happily ever after with her contact lenses.

I think that's a reasonable assumption, Beckifera.
