Default FreshLook ColorBlends

Hello everyone, I am interested in wearing color contact lenses to change my look on special occasions.

These are the colors available in FreshLook ColorBlends.
Gray
Blue
Green
Brown
Honey
Turquoise
Amethyst
True Sapphire
Pure Hazel

I want to know which color would be the most natural for someone with brown eyes?

I just figured out how to upload images very simple while creating a reply there is a section called "additional options" in that section there is a button that says "Attach Files" then "browse" for images and then click "upload" it is that simple. The only problem is that you can only upload 5 images per post.

Anyway I have attached some sample colors, but they don't help me in deciding how they will look on my brown eyes. Any advice would be helpful.

I have found that with dark eyes it is really hard to get a natural look, however the colorblends give you the most natural look because of the rings of color that blend to brown at the edges. For dark colored eyes this is the best. For an example of the colors goto

I dont like dot matrix contacts, compared to painted lenses they're very fake. These colorblends are hideous in my opinion, and only the Turquoise Blue gets away. Curiously the Freshlook Colors (not colorblends) Green look very natural on my hazel eyes but the rest of them are very unnatural.

I agree the colorblends are just an cheap dot-matrix mass-produced excuse for a more natural looking lense. They ARE more natural than the solid color Durasoft 2 Colors. But not by much. The Complements are not disposable so you can just see the quality they put into the printing of the color on them. I haven't tried painted lenses yet so please tell more about it. What manufacturer, colors and pictures. Which are suitable for dark eyes? (Opaque)

Default New Colors!

CB has put up new colors
I think they're supposed to be "brighter". Has anyone seen what they look like in real life?

BTW, I don't think CB are unnatural looking. I wear CB grey all the time and alot of people think I just have unusually light eyes. I have to tell them to come really close to see my brown eyes underneath:

Freshlook Colorblends just came out with 3 more colors. sterling gray, brilliant blue, and this other version of green...they claim to be more dramatic than the older colors. I got my sterling grays the other day, and they look more blue gray than anything else...

The gray and Hazel to me look most natural. The Sterling Gray looks more Blueish and upclose it looks a bit fake to me. Great for night time. Same w their new Green...its toooo green....their Brilliant Blue looked like fake blue...out of new colors I vote fr Sterling Gray...but Colorblends in HAzel and Gray is the best. Very natural. I got a bunch on Amazon for very cheap so tried each one for coupe days and i sticl t thoses colos for naturality of it

Post Freshlook - Turquoise on brown eyes.

Just a Demo I got today, wearing only so you can see the difference. I was looking into a really bright light so as you can see my pupil is very small and you can see the brown. But that isn't normally like that.
I really like this color, and may just buy some Durasoft 3 colorblends instead of freshlook. Freshlook are not comfortable to me. I would think the Durasoft would be, becaue they are annual lenses, and $90 per lens. lol

Default Soloticas on Amazon

ok the vendor i just looked up is www.amazon.com/shops/colormyeyes...I got them in plano but they do come in prescription since my sister roomy got a pair. Its $150 total including shipping. Other sites charge $30 for shipping, their shipping is $5.99. Came with lens holder and in glass vials W are super happy w them. I am not buying any other lens, its a waste of $ when this lens comes out to $10 a month. I pay $80 a month for my fake nailslol

Vendor was so nice, answered my questions n matter of seconds.

I checked out this site and it looked very pretty, and it seems to be based outside the United States, and for that reason they may not ask for a prescription. The base curve listed for the Solotica "Hidrocharme" here (Is that spelled correctly? That's how it is on the website.) is 8.7 and the diameter is 14.2. Some contacts only come in one size, and that may be the case for Soliticas, but I don't know very much about them.
I'd check with my doctor before ordering if I were you. Since they only come in one size they won't need a prescription for that, but they should want your doctor's information if they are legit. I guess they should try and check and see if you're legit.

Default Sloticas from Amazon

Really? We all got ours for $150 total...where did u find for $118? I am not sure then thats the vedor we dealt with. The one on Amazon was Colormyeyes, they are US based since they answered our emails right away, they speak English. MAke sure :
1.The company is US based and deals w Amazon
2.They ask to verify your prescription before getting them in prescription
3.Make sure they explain the color since they all have strange names

Welcome to Lens 101, kia'necole. I have to say that I like the way you look even without color contacts, but that's not what you asked.

Because of your skin tone, going with something green or blue might look fake, so you might want to go with a honey brown or something like that.

Acuvue 2 Colours - Opaques come in such colors as Chestnut, Hazel and Honey Brown. Below is Honey Brown, and you can see the rest here: http://www.lens.com/contact-lenses/lens134.asp

Default New Color <<Sterling Gray>>

People were asking for the newer colors, These are the Sterling Gray, I just bought them not too long ago and I really like them, but I always get a head ache every time I wear them even for an hour and a half lol, oh well. I think it a totally personal thing though. The second pic is my natural dark brown color, which I love as well haha.

Hi miros18. Welcome to the Lens 101 Club.

How long has it been since you were fitted for the Sterling Gray lenses? What brand are they? I hope you've only been wearing them for a short time and you're still adjusting to them. Contact lenses that are fitted properly should not give you a headache after only an hour and a half. This sounds like something you might want to tell your eye doctor about. Don't be afraid to see a different eye doctor if your current one can't help you. Let us know how it turns out, OK?

Yeah, headaches are not a good sign. Definitely talk to your eye care professional about the headaches.

Default Headaches

I haven't talked to my doctor because their non prescription, and I bought them online.... I usually can go longer with the contacts but I have to slowly build the tolerance by wearing them one extra hour a day. I'm not sure if the problem is something else like fitting, hopefully not, I haven't been wearing them often recently.

I gave my contacts a good cleaning(cause it was way too early to throw them out) and I've been wearing them for 7 hours and haven't felt even a hint of a headache coming on. I rubbed each side with solution this time instead of just rinsing alone and then rinsed them with water, I suppose they were just dirty haha.

Hello miros18

I sincerely hope you didn't rinse the lenses with water after cleaning them. Any non-sterile water such as tap water/bottled water/sea water/lake water/brackish water etc. etc. is a big NO NO. You can get very serious infections through rinsing or putting your lenses in with tap water (do a search for Acanthamoeba keratitis).

Only use proper sterile lens solutions or sterile saline to rinse your lenses. Always make sure your hands are scrupulously clean before handling your lenses and keep your lens case clean/change it at least every 3 months if you can't keep it clean.

How are you doing these days, miros? Have you settled into a routine of cleaning your contacts properly?

I have heard that FreshLook is a good choice, but I can't decide.
I need some help, I don't want my eyes to look fake, a nice decent color would be great. Feel free to comment
Looking good. Have you found your grey contacts yet?

Now it's up to over 15,000. 1,000 views in a few weeks.

Yeah, those are pretty nice. Try as I might though, I couldn't find a picture of a latina bonita with FreshLook Grey contact lenses.

Ive been using freshlook for quite a long time. I had the pure hazel lenses. They give a very natural look but they are not confortable at all!
The lenses donot fit very well. From time to time, they slide away a little bit. I end up having blurred vision when this occurs. Its quite annoying.

Has anyone experienced the same?

I'm thinking of switching to another brand. I dont want to compromise my comfort any longer. Can anyone suggest an option? I mean lenses which would give the looks and the comfort as well!

Thanks in advance

Welcome to Lens 101 syyna. Sorry to read about your uncomfortable contact lenses. I suppose your doctor has told you that they're as comfortable as they're going to get, right? When you say you've been using them for "quite a long time," how long is that?

Where have you been kia'necole? Have you decided what color contact lenses you're going to wear?

As far as price goes the cheapest I have seen them are $40 for a pack of 3 in China Town NYC. I do not believe any shades of blue by the brand look natural. Nobody's eyes are the electric blue that they portray naturally (or so I've never seen anyone anyways)

My cousin got the hazel and golden and I think they look absolutely freaky because they are this hideous bright orange. They may have changed but from when I viewed them I was not very satisfied.

As far as myself I have tried the sterling gray. At first I was in love with them. Some people were fooled. Most were not. You can also try branching outside of Freshlook colorblends as well. Their pattern is a little funky anyhow.
