Default Solotica natural colors contacts

I recently purchased a pair of solotica natural colors which by he way are hey beautiful HOWEVER i thought i did my homework good enough. THe diameter of these are 14.2 my pupil diameter is 14.0 you would think that wouldn't make a difference right...,WRONG. The reason i purchased these was for the gray limbal ring. Since it's. 14.2 which makes it a teeny tiny big , you cannot see the limbal ring at all. What a waste. Those cost alot too darn it. My question is......does anyone know of any colored contacts that are natural looking with a diameter of 14.0? Im not interested in Acuvue or freshcolors. They look scary in my opinion. Thanks for any information at all.

Hi lisaeckman27. Welcome to Lens.com. If you're looking for some color contact lenses that have a diameter of 14.0, just take a look at this page here: http://www.lens.com/contact-lenses/department95.asp

Just click on the name of a lens and you will be taken to a page with information about that brand, including the diameter. To start you off, I found that Focus 1-2 Week SoftColors, Focus Monthly SoftColors, Acuvue 2 Colours - Opaques and Acuvue 2 Colours - Enhancers are all available in a 14.0 diameter.

I've never heard of "Freshcolors," though. I take it you meant FreshLook ColorBlends?

Thanks for listing specific brands, John B. I hope lisaeckman27 finds it useful.

If your prescription is for 14.0 diameter, how did you get 14.2 contact lenses? Shouldn't the company ask for a copy of your prescription?

Default hi actually

i just received them yesterday to be exact. it took about 2 1/2 weeks and thats after i emailed the company to find out where they were. anyways i will try to post pics in the next day or so. i have never uploaded pics on here before so i hope its not too difficult. the company did not need to check on prescription since i ordered it in 0.00 to see if i liked them first....plus i wanted them right away and didnt want to worry about prescription acceptance from my doctor. I "heard" if you buy out of the country they check prescription going thru customs? dont know if thats true or not but if i end up liking these contacts and reorder in my presc. i will post on how they go about that. the doctor probably gets the measurements and if he thinks they will work he will either okay or deny the contacts. im not sure so dont quote me. ....i would prob call my doctor ahead of time and let him know whats going on so he doesnt get a call out of the blue from a manufacturer out of the country.

I didn't know you could order plano contact lenses without a prescription. Even if you don't need to give them a power number, don't you need to specify the diameter and base curve?

If you know your base curve and diameter, that would seem to indicate that you have a prescription, right? I thought that a prescription was a must, even if you order them without any power.

Yes I have a prescription but I haven't found a contact lense available in the us that I like. So when i shop for contacts online i try to get them as close as my prescription. There are othher options for contact lenses that are manufactured in different countries.I order online because there are alot ofoptions besides only unitedstates. For out of the country contacts i do not know if they would check to see if you have a prescription since the laws are different over there. ...plus i ordered mine in 0.00 to try them out comfort wise before deciding to purchase in my prescription. As far as when contacts go thru united states custom I do not know if they would try and see if u have a prescription before delivering since I didn't order with a prescription

I think that if I were in your place I would just order the lenses in my regular prescription. If they fit right--and there's every reason to believe that they will--then you have your contacts all set. If you order the plano ones with a 0.0 prescription, you will have to order another pair no matter what.

Default yes.....

i probably should have just ordered the prescription but i kept going back and forth on the decision. i was nervous that if i ordered them with prescription it would take FOREVER to get here because u.s. customs would try to put a hold on them to verify prescription which isnt a problem but i heard that it took one person almost 2 months before receiving his. Who really knows unless i order but anyways i opted for plano 0.00 and mainly for cosmetics reasons ... like going out with the hubby or friends. if i would have ordered these with my prescription and my husband was sitting across the dinner table from me his face would be blurry. thats how it is with my clear contacts too. i use contacts and glasses basically for distance. I thought maybe if i enjoyed these contacts that much then i would possibly order with my prescription, then i would be able to use them for driving home after dinner instead of eye glasses ;-). anyways it turns out...... though i bought several different brands/colors the Adorn Bi-tones and Adorn Dares give me an extreme headache. i actually had to take them out only after wearing them 2 hours. my eyes felt so much pressure, no oxygen or something. although they were a perfect fit example- base curve and diameter, they just didnt work out. i will not be putting those back in my eyes. how unfortunate to spend so much $ but try try again .. i will be posting pics separately on each of these contacts shortly. Everyone thanks for helping!! :-0 I might have to just stick with eyeglasses for now.

Hi Lisa.

I've never used Photobucket, so I had to look it up and here's what I found. This is simply a copy and paste job, so if you have any questions, it would be best to go to the website itself - http://pic.pbsrc.com/help/PhotobucketHelp.htm

Resize an Image

1. Log into your Photobucket account.
2. Navigate to the image in your album that you want to resize.
3. Click the thumbnail to display the full-size view, or click the edit link.
4. Mouse over the image in full-size view, and do one of the following:

* Select resize, and then choose an option (Tiny, Small, Medium, more options).

Important! If you use resize on the full-size view, your resize is permanent. If you make your image smaller, there is no way to enlarge it again. Make sure you keep a back-up of the original file.

OR

* Click the edit button to open the Image Editor.

5. Make sure you are in the Basic tab, then select a preset size from the drop-down-menu, use the width/height slider bars, or type in the size of your choice. For best results, leave the Keep Proportions checkbox selected so your image is not distorted. Click the Apply button to see your changes.

6. Click Save a copy at the bottom of the page to create a new image in your album, with a number appended to the original file name. Use this option if you want to keep your original image unedited. Click Replace original to save the changes you made to the original file in your album, replacing your original.

Default thanks eyerobot hope this makes more sense ;-)

I just reread my message and i wasnt making sense last night. sorry about that. what i meant to say is that i tried posting pictures here on lens101 by uploading from my computer however when it was done uploading and i went to preview my post my picture was enormous!! do you know how to downsize on lens101 or does the downsizing have to done on my computer first, then saved as a new photo via an application/software before i upload back onto lens101. i have a mac and cannot find what apllication to use for downsizing pictures. i will give it a try again as soon as i figure this out. thanks again for the response. i still cannot figure photobucket out as in what link to use when attaching to lens101 bulletin board. ive copied and pasted all four options, html, url, im/email and one other one cannot remember but when i paste it on lens101 it doesnt link to photobucket? o well ..

Well, your first problem is using a Mac.

OK, seriously, if you want to make a picture smaller, I don't know of any way to do it once you've attached it here in Lens 101. As far as I know you have to resize it before you attach it.

I don't think you can post a link to Photobucket, other than copy and paste the URL of the picture. Like this: http://babyanimalz.com/community/sites/default/files/images/Kitten-Ducks.jpg

Of course, when people like me come to this site and want to see the picture, I'd have to copy and paste the link, and I may not want to go through all that work. If I wanted to do work I'd go out and get a real job instead of sitting in front of the computer all day.

I hope that answers your question. If not try again, and so will we.

I looked at some of the pictures you posted, and I like your brown contacts. All we need now is a few more pictures that show your eyes and your smile. Thanks for the illustrations.

Well, everybody can, if they want to go to another thread. I wonder if lisaeckman27 can be persuaded to post some pictures right here in this thread?

What do you think, lisaeckman27?

Knowing the diameter isn't going to help you--the diameter refers to the size of the lens itself, not the colored part-anyone who has ever worn colored contacts knows that there is a clear rim around the colored part--so the only way to get an idea of how large the colored area is is to look at pictures of the contacts on someone's eye--knowing the diameter will not tell you a thing

Well, lisaeckman27's problem was "you cannot see the limbal ring at all." Presumably because it was too big. Wouldn't a smaller lens have a smaller--and therefore more visible--limbal ring?

Maybe, or maybe not

The colored part (and limbal ring)could be larger on a colored contact with a 13.8 diameter than one with a 14.2 diameter

That's certainly true. As your illustration shows, sometimes the limbal ring does not go all the way to the edge of the lens.

Actually it only does when you are buying custom painted contact lenses and explicitly ask for it
Or if you're buying circle lenses-which are meant to enlarge your iris significantly

Makes sense when you think about it, clear lenses extend well past your irises too--if the diameter was too small it couldn't grip your eyeball correctly

Makes sense when you think about it, clear lenses extend well past your irises too--if the diameter was too small it couldn't grip your eyeball correctly
I couldn't find a picture of a contact lens extending past the iris and gripping the eyeball. That would have been helpful.

Well the average diameter of a contact lens is around 13.8-14 mm

whereas the diameter of the average iris is around 10-13 mm
