Default Pictures of me wearing Solotica Hidrocharme Ice

Hey guys!

I didn't want to post photos of me, but I know how useful it is to see pictures of people wearing the lenses you want to buy, so I'm doing my bit for future lens buyers, lolll.

Anyway, here are two pics of me wearing Solotica Hidrocharme Ice on saturday night. I have to say that the more I wear them, the more I love them!

So you're the guy with the ice blue eyes, right? It gets confusing when you post two pictures of the same two people without saying which one is you.

Sorry I just thought it was obvs which one was wearing the lenses, and since I said what colour they were in the post I thought it was even more obvious.

Hi Wisney.

I think you might have humored Georgiaonmymind a little bit. Maybe say something like "I'm the one with the Solotica Hidrocharme Ice blue eyes."

At any rate, the lenses look pretty good, except maybe they're a bit too blue for your skin tone.

Ok, sorry for being snarky, I just really did think it was obvious. And I don't think they look too blue, there are quite a few mixed race guys out there who have eyes that colour.

Hi Wisney. Maybe ElizabethSydney misunderstood you, and I think I may have, too. Were you looking for people's opinions on your contact lenses? If so, then it's perfectly valid for her/him to say that they looked "too blue" in her/his opinion. Usually when people post their picture, they're asking "how do you think these look"? When they do that, not everyone is going to say they look fabulous. Especially with as many people as there are looking at this site. I find that 99% of the comments here on Lens 101 are polite, even if they aren't always positive.

So are you prepared for a possible less-than-positive remark or two?

Me? I think they look pretty good on you. You're a handsome guy no matter what color your eyes are. Have you considered green contacts?

Ok guys, seriously, I ONLY posted these pics because I was grateful that people posted pics of them wearing their lenses when I was thinking about buying mine. I haven't seen hardly any good hidrocharme ice pictures, so I was seriously only posting these for people who are thinking about buying them to see what they look like. I didn't post them for people to give me their opinions and stuff, although I do appreciate any words of kindness that people offer.

Thankyou Foxyboxer, and yeah I've tried all kinds of lenses in the past, all the freshlook brands and colours, Acuvue colours, natural touch lenses, but Solotica Hidrocharme are the first to give me the blue I wanted. Quite a few people have been perplexed as to whether they're really my eyes or not, so that's a good sign!

But yeah, I just wanted people who are thinking about buying them to see what they properly looked like as I saw very few good pictures when I was considering buying them.

Oh, you you were sort of modeling the lenses for anyone else who was thinking of giving them a try? Like you were saying "If you want to know how Solotica Hidrocharme Ice contacts look on a real person, here's how they look like on me"?

Yeah I really like these lenses, I do think they look quite natural. I will get the Natural COlors Ice when I can as I think they'll look completely natural. I'll post pics then aswell! x

Unfortunately, Lens.com does not offer Solotica lenses, and they sponsor this forum, so I'd hate to send you to a competitor's site. Maybe Lens.com has some lenses that you like just as much as the Soloticas? They might even be cheaper. Take a look.

I hope you find something.

Thanks Columbia, My 2nd option would be Elegance or Natural Touch and they are being discontinued, not sure why they are still up for sale on the site.

Where did you hear that those two lenses will be discontinued? I've read about that rumor here, but haven't been able to confirm it anyplace else.

I ordered last week from lens.com and my order was cancelled because Elegance were discontinued, I ask to replace for Natural Touch, and I was told that this are the same contacts and both are discontinued.

Hey dude, well I wanted to order mine from Wrlens but at the time they couldnt guarantee I'd get the package in time for my holiday, but they do deliver them worlwide. And I personally think these lenses look way better than Natural Touch or Elegance.

That's strange.

I went to Lens.com and pretended to order some Elegance contact lenses, (since I don't have a prescription for them) and they're listed as "Elegance Opaques (Natural Touch Opaque)" but if I click on Natural Touch, it will say "Natural Touch Opaque (Elegance Opaques), so they must be the same; but I did not see anything on the page that indicated that they were being discontinued. When you ordered them, did you see anything that said "these contact lenses are no longer available" or anything before you actually completed your order? It sounds like you put in your payment information and they told you your order was canceled the next day or something.
That sounds like poor customer service to me. I hope someone from Lens.com is reading this right now.

Yeah they look that blue in person. Obvs the flash of the camera makes it a litttttle bit more dramatic, but they look pretty much the same in person. I would love to see how the Natural Colors look on you because I am thinking about ordering some in the future. Could you PM me some pics when you receive them?

Nothing said that they were discontinued. I ordered my lenses and days later i was told they were discontinued. I was very dissapointed, I told them that this contacts should not be listed for sale on their webpage if they are discontinued.

You're right, loverboysc. Did you go to the website and complain? If you click on the red banner above, it will take you directly to Lens.com, and then from there you can click "Contact Us" in the red border below the picture of the pretty girl.

Um, I usually bring some eyedrops out with me just because sometimes your eyes can get a tiny bit dry, but once you put the drops in it usually keeps them moist the whole day for me. Most of the time though they're totally fine.

Default Exactly the result I want!

Wisney, I'll be ordering some Soloticas along with my Waicons after seeing the pics of you I have dark eyes too, so hopefully I'll get a very similar result. They look pretty natural, in my opinion. Totally reminds me of that guy from CSI with the light-colored grayish blue eyes... Gary whatshisname. His eye color is "real", I believe.

I'm wondering if I can get the same effect with the Hidrocors inst of Hidrocharmes...I think no dark limbal ring might suit me a little better. Hmmm. Decisions.

Thanks again for posting the pics.

I don't think Wisney's going to post any pictures here. It's a shame, really. There's a cute blonde in both of those pictures, but the guy she's with has really, really blue eyes that look like colored contact lenses.

I have one more that I can show you guys so you can see:

They look awesome! Are Soloticas as uncomfortable as I've read, or not? Do they get better after the first few days?

They are very comfortable after they have been opened and stored over night.. The solution that they are in doesn't sting but not very comfortable. I received mine from WRLens last night. Worth the wait, "almost a month" and the hype is true. They do have a dot matrix pattern, however it so fine you would need to be a half inch from someones face to see them. The material they are made of is thick, as in I do not see them ripping anytime soon. The ice are actually white. They appear purple on me in person " I may be colorblind, my iris is almost a red but in pictures and in sunlight a blue I have not seen since elegance opaque light blue.. This lens is what I would recommend to anyone that once wore the elegance.

Cool. Was it Wisney's handsome features that made you decide to make a purchase?

No, however he is a pretty good looking guy. I've wanted solotica hidrocharme ice for about two years. I ordered them because the natural touch baby blue by coopervision have been discontinued, it may sound ridiculous but it was one of the most dissapointing things I've heard in years . I am happy that I took a chance on them because they are the most natural looking contact lense I have ever worn, a picture does not do them justice.

They should use that in their advertising: "Solotica Hidrocharme: The Next Best Thing to FreshLook ColorBlends."

Freshlook color blends don't hold a candle to solotica, it's like saying a chevy cavalier is better than a Benz. Colorblends are the herpies of the color contact world, slightly nicer than circle lenses from Korea.

Cool name, OberonV1. That sounds like the name of a space station.

Speaking of names, I hope you meant "Herbie of the color contact world" as in "Herbie, the Love Bug."

Herpes is a different kind of "love bug."

Welcome back Wisney. I guess you just have to check back now and then. Is there a button I'm supposed to click or something to alert me that someone has replied to one of my posts?

Looking forward to seeing your Natural Colors.

I hope that you and online shopper No 1 will let us know when you finally get your order and how long it eventually takes. You might want to order from a different place next time.
So where is the order coming from and where are you hoping to receive them? Is it a long way from them to you?

I am in Nevada,USA and they are comming from Brazil. Today is 2 weeks to the day they were shipped. I ordered from lens marketplace. On wrlens people commented they got the lenses within 2 weeks .I emailed a lady on there ,she like me is in Nevada and she got them within 2 weeks.I would be really mad if it would take 2 months. There is no excuse for that.

Wow, I hope those contact lenses have to take an interplanetary flight to get to you. although I can imagine it probably feels that way sometimes.

You said that your lenses were the Solotica Hidrocharme Ice, and I should have known that someone with brown eyes, like your friend, would not be the one wearing the contacts. (I've heard of black ice, but never brown ice.) I should have double-checked the picture before posting. My bad.

I know what you're saying amnahp12. A lot of websites have pictures to show you what the contacts look like, but they're not even photographs. They look like computer simulations of what they might look like.

Hmm I was about to order another pair of Soloticas from lensmarketplace.com because their price was slightly better than at Viallure, but not if I have to wait 2 months! Viallure only took two weeks....anyone else have a bad experience with shipping times at lensmarketplace.com?

Wow, that picture makes me dizzy. I really get a sense of looking down, even though the astronaut who took that picture was weightless and in no danger of falling anytime soon. In fact, some have described an orbit as continually falling.

Default Solotica Review

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you guys know my experience with Solotica lenses. I ended up buying the Hidrocor Ice, Natural Colors in Ice and Graphite and Hidrocharme Ice. First of all they are all, in my opinion, very uncomfortable compared to my regular non color lenses. However, if you really want blue eyes like myself, they are tolerable. The other thing that sucks about them is that after a couple hours of wearing them I would get big red blood vessels showing up in my eyes. Not so hot. The Hidrocor Ice were horrible. I looked like a zombie with a serious eye disease. The lack of limbal ring completely washes your eye out, and I wouldn't recommend these unless you were wearing them on halloween. The Hidrocharme Ice were a little scary at first, but eventually I got enough courage to wear them outside. The color is beautiful but the limbal ring is a little too severe. It is so thick and perfectly round and black that you can kind of look like a vampire. The Natural Colors Ice and Graphite (ice was a very nice pale greyish blue, and graphite was a darker baby blue) were very natural looking but once again, I had a problem with the limbal ring, it was too faint, but the edges of the ring were better than the hidrocharme because it wasn't a solid perfect circle. All of my friends and family said they liked my hazel eyes better, and that I looked "tired" with the color lenses. I too noticed I looked more "tired" with them, they kind of make any dark circles or bags under your eyes more noticeable. I also thought that the Hidrocharme Ice looked better in photos, but not as good in person, and that the Natural Colors Ice and Graphite looked better in person, and not as good in photos, weird.

So I think that Solotica needs to come up with a lens that is right in between natural colors and hidrocharme. With a thicker limbal ring than natural colors but with the same not perfect edge, and not as thick and perfectly round as hidrocharme. Also, the lens needs to be not as thick so that they are more comfortable, and so they don't cause all the blood vessels to pop out in your eyes. That in my opinion, would be the perfect color lens. Hopefully one day I will have the perfect baby blue lens!

I wanted to post pictures but I can't figure out how, I don't have them on a website with url, just photos on my computer, so if someone could let me know how, I'll post them asap!

they are very, very gray [on me]. I love it.
Damn those are gorgeous, and the pupil holes aren't bad
I've been thinking about getting a pair of those or the cristals--everyone is crazy about the cristals because they're new but yours are beautiful--I like the limbal ring of the hidrocharmes it's very attractive--on some people the hidrocor can look like a cataract or something

Oh and I love the makeup too, what did you use?

But here you are, tried to make it fairly clear how they look on ME in flash [it's amazing how different they look on different people] and sort of in indoor lighting -- which look GREAT but I just can't seem to capture. But most importantly of course, the difference between the two lenses, which is driving me nuts ....

they are very, very gray [on me]. I love it.
Those lenses look great, and your smile makes them look even better. Thanks for the pictures. I also see by your T-shirt that you're a hugger. That's good to know. I am too, but I'm kind of ugly, so people don't always want to hug me back.

These look GREAATTT in natural lighting; I don't have enough raves! The pupil hole is fabulous, not once has the pigment clouded my vision, but the flip side is that in a bright flash, it becomes very obvious that they are contacts because of the brown showing through. I was originally contemplating the cristal, but I haven't seen very many pictures of them, and the few I have weren't very 'bright,' if you get my drift. If you do get them, I'd love to see pictures! I agree about the limbal ring, on the wrong person it can look glaucoma-y, though on fairer people it can be quite natural. Sometimes the hidrocharme's limbal ring is WAY too prominent though, particularly on smaller irises, so you end up seeing a lighter color around the edge and then the limbal ring, which looks pretty awful.

Once again though, my only concern is with consistency. It isn't only that they look different on different eyes; obviously there are differences in the contacts themselves that are being manufactured, [prominently displayed in my own pair here] which makes a big difference in consistency and appearance. Sigh I'll be sending them back but who knows what they'll say after they 'analyze' them and send me back a pair?

As for makeup, thanks! I'm actually using one of those big generic palettes. Hmm might be NYX or LA colors or something like that; it folds in on itself. I couldn't afford high-end, but they are soo worth it for the pigmentation. These is purple/plum on one side with gold layered on silver/plum on the other
Uh oh I have a smaller iris so maybe I should stay away from them
Idk if it's weird but I have always been freakishly obsessed with hiding my small irises!

I should try NYX-I"m usually a Sephora junkie but I've heard good things

That sounds like a great way to find out what pepper spray feels like.

No, but you have to be careful when asking for hugs. If you look like Sandra Bullock, sure, you can get anyone to hug you. When you look like a Juniorgerbil though, things aren't always that simple.

I used to try to hug as many people as I could. I found that if you say "give me a hug," most people will, but in some cases, I could sense their discomfort. I don't want to make people hug me, so I take hugs as they come. It seems to work out pretty well that way.
How about you? Can you get hugs without the T-shirt? How about complements on your contacts? Do they make you want to sing "you want to hug me"?

For some reason the size of these photos are huge on here! If you zoom out on your screen view, you can see them better, sorry! lol

Wow. Giant pictures. The glimpses of blonde hair and Ice lenses looked good as I scrolled down, though.

@ WISNEY I think your contacts look too fake on you. I think that colour would only look real on a lighter complexion person.
