Hi Everyone,
Just joined the forum, My first post. Got a lot to learn by the looks of things lol I'm from the UK, and have been wearing prescription coloured contact lenses for the last 10 years. I have tried almost every 'high street' make of coloured lenses available here in the UK, Not been fully satisfied with any to be honest. Having said that I am a VERY fussy person. Natural eye colour is dark brown. Have a very fair/pale complexion with dark hair. Most of my previous lenses have been annuals, with the odd monthly lenses here n there. Examples of some of the lenses I have had in tha past include Durasoft 2 and 3 colours (grey and green), Freshlook colours (grey) Freshlook colourblends (grey) Out of all the ones I can remember I only liked the Durasoft 2 grey's. These were the only ones that looked kinda natural on me. That was until I stumbled into a friend of mine who bought some lenses from abroad (I think they were Bausch and Lomb colours) Thats when I realised I needed to look further a field for more natural looking coloured lenses. I have kinda given up looking for light green lenses, I dont think there is such thing for dark brown eyes. After an insight into the forums/youtube etc, I decided to take the plunge and order some annual Waicon TriKolor Grey's off Daniel in Argentina. At first (like many others) I had my doubts about this guy, after all the prospect of sending 115USD to a stranger on the other side of the world isnt exactly something I'd normally do. Wherever I looked people were praising this guy, so I thought lets give this a try. After exchanging a fair few emails with the guy, I decided to send him the money for the lenses. It was evident after my communications with him, that he was very professional. My lenses arrived 7 weeks later (damn postal services), recorded delivery. I could not been more pleased after waiting so long for them. My first reaction to when I wore them was WOW!!! they cover brown eyes soooo well... I tried the Waicon in one eye and one of my old Durasoft in the other eye...and yeah the Waicons are so much more eyecatching!!! VERY impressed with this. Colour wise I LOVE the small brown starburst pattern in the centre.... looks very subtle and natural. I also LOVE the striking grey colour in the middle...very striking not subtle. Not so sure about the outer circle, even though this is not very visible. They have a fairly small pupil opening, impressed with this. Comfort wise, I am glad I ordered the thins. they are about the same comfort as my old Durasofts (after wearing for 9hrs) even though for me... I can begin to feel them in my eyes after around 6 hrs so still fairly comfortable... (I hope they remain as comfortable though) I dont think I wouldve been happy comfort wise with the normal ones. I am fairly light skinned (very light skinned for an asian) so I can easily pull these off as naturals. So in summary (after a FULL few days wear) Comfort - 8 out of 10 Colour- 8 out of 10 Overall - 9 out of 10 Dan's service- 10 out of 10 Just want to thank Daniel for such a professional, polite, patient and prompt service.... He made, what may seem to a lot of other people 'risky', seem very safe and aspired confidence in buying from a stranger thousands of miles away. Very honest and genuine guy. Shame I cant say the same about our international postal services! I will definitely recommend him to others and after wearing these lenses for while I will be looking to place another order off him. His Email address is imnotdead22@hotmail.com Cant recommend him enough for these Lenses. I am not 100% sure on the colour for my next ones though..... I am drawn towards the annual non trikolors so just a single colour in grey or maybe green??...... I think they will look better without a dark ring around the edge, providing the main colour is striking like the trikolors... Any recommendations? From what I have seen on here and youtube, I have heard mixed reviews on the Solotica lenses, Am not so keen on them as of yet but this may change as I continue to explore further before making my next purchase. So in short, I am looking for Annual grey coloured lenses, that are comfortable, have a small pupil opening, have similar grey colour like the trikolors, but a single striking grey..... ALL ideas welcome. Sorry for the essay! I can talk for the world LOL Last edited by Celica; 11-20-2010 at 10:38 PM.. |

Thanks for telling us about your very positive experience. I'm glad it worked out so well for you, except maybe the wait time. Will you post pictures? |

Fototmat! I remember those little yellow huts! There used to be one right outside the Pizza Hut down the street. It's completely gone now. I should go back to the spot and see if there's even a concrete square where it used to be.

Don't give up on finding a light green color quite yet. Solotica makes a very natural light green/gray color called Cristal and they look give very good coverage on dark eyes(mine are almost black). I'm darker skinned so I want a slightly darker green color so I'm hoping that waicon tri greens will give me the look I'm after.
I just noticed that my cristal lens(well actually I had the 1st version called icemints) was torn and I still plan on buying a new pair because the lens is very realistic. |

It's been almost a year. Have you put up pictures in another thread or something? I'd especially like to see those Durasoft 2 lenses.

I think you'll be as likely to see those pictures as a Fotomat hut.

At this point I'm thinking that there will be no pictures of Celica.
