Exclamation Natural touch discontinued???

I recently tried to reorder my Natural Touch "Sultry Gray" lenses from 1800CONTACTS and they said they were DISCONTINUED!! Is this just from that provider or is Cooper Vision really discontinuing NATURAL TOUCH?!?!?!?!!? Please post if you know anything about this!!

Also - does anyone with experience with colored lenses know of a comparable lens? Illusions? Durasoft 3?

I checked Lens.com and didn't find it there at all. I know that brand used to be on Lens.com, so they must have discontinued it quite a while ago.

I did an Internet search, but I didn't find anything that will give me the brand name of a contact lens that is comparable to Natural Touch. Hopefully someone else will be one step ahead and will have found a different lens.

I did a bit of Internet research, and it seems that a lot of people feel that Illusions are pretty close to the Natural Touch contacts. They don't have "Sultry Gray" but they do have Grey lenses. Lens 101 has a section for those lenses with some pictures here: http://www.lens101.com/illusions.html

I hope that helps.

I actually contacted Coopervision and they said they stopped making the Natural Touch in early fall. They had no recomendations for a comparable lens. (The reason I joined this forum is to try and find a suitable replacement) The hardest part in finding a replacement is that Natural Touch was the only lens I found with a black outer ring around the color that made it look a LOT more realistic. If I find something, I'll post it.

Thanks for giving the results of your research. That black ring you mentioned is called a "limbal ring" and I don't think that Natural Touch were the only contact lenses to have these rings.
I found a website that listed Impressions Colors as having limbal rings.

THAT SUCKS! The outer ring is one of the main reasons they look more realistic. I have never tried Ciba Illusions - but I will have to find something that is close or somewhat realistic for a change from very dark to light eyes soon - as my Rx is up soon. I appreciate that you actually contacted Coopervision - did they have a reason for discontinuing NT? They have been around for almost 15 years! Please let me know if you find anything close!

I found a website that said "Natural Touch Opaque Lenses have been discontinued by the manufacturer. Suggested replacement for that product is Expressions Colors Monthly disposable lenses."

Does that help? You can buy Expressions Colors here: http://www.lens.com/contact-lenses/lens283.asp

I haven't been able to find out why these lenses have been discontinued, but my guess is that something came up that made if difficult or impossible to keep producing them, or they just weren't selling. Judging by the response on Lens 101, it's hard to believe that no one was buying them.

Default Elegance Opaque

They also have the sultry gray......do a search for "elegance" on lens.com. I could only find a couple of sites that carried it.

Contact lenses are originally intended for corrective purposes: Toric Contact Lenses for treatment of astigmatism. Now they make cool contact lenses that are also corrective and therapeutic at the same time.

Smile Just fitted for "Illusions" to replace Natural Touch

When I found out Natural Touch were being discontinued I was very disappointed. After research and reading reviews it sounded like Ciba Illusions were my best be to achieve a natural light iris look on my dark brown eyes. I went to my eye doc last Friday for a fitting and am waiting on the order as we speak. I hope they make me as happy as NT did!

Are Natural Touch the same thing as Elegance? There's a nice thread about contact lenses that look like Natural Touch here:

http://www.lens101.com/natural-touch-opaque/2964-thunderbolts-natural-touch-contacts.html

If you look on this page in Lens.com you will see where you can order Natural Touch lenses--even in Sultry Grey. They must have some lenses left over. Check them out here let us know either way if they have them or not.

I opened the vials in her presence so Cooper couldn't say I had previously worn them. I was really disappointed and have tried other grey contacts but they are not even gray. My doctor even wrote a letter to Cooper for me to send and cooper never responded. illusions have been discontinued, Expressions' grey look like an off blue, durasoft are ugly as well. I wish Cooper would make them again and clean their machines. I have one pair that are two years old that i shouldn't be wearing. I keep them very clean and only wear them for special occasions. If anyone out there finds anything comparable, please let me know. if anyone out there has any they haven't worn and are not defective, name your price!
Does anyone out there know why Cooper discontinued them?

About a year ago, someone contacted CooperVision and as told by a Jennifer Knab that the Natural Touch lenses are not being discontinued. Perhaps you can contact them and ask for Ms. Knab. I think the "k" is probably silent.

As many know Cooper and Ciba have discontinued many of their "specialty" or vial annual wear colored contact lenses. Choices are limited - especially to people who were used to wearing the very light, very beautiful Natural Touch Sultry gray. To Beverly I am sorry to hear about your predicament! That is horrible! I thought about ordering a bunch of lenses myself but didn't go through with it. I went in and tried on several types of contacts a few weeks ago and most colored lenses are only available as disposable. I went ahead and ordered "Sterling Gray" in Freshlook Colorblends (a fairly new color). They were the lightest and most gray of any other brand or shade I tried on at the doctor. The lenses look pretty good and natural and are very comfortable. Of course I would rather use Natural Touch or Illusions, but there are so up sides to using Freshlook Colorblends. I would advise you and anyone else to try these lenses as they cover a great portion of the iris and are natural in appearance and very comfortable and affordable. I would highly recommend the "Sterling Gray" shade over their "Gray shade as it is lighter and closer to Natural Touch (blending 3 different shades of gray on one lens). No one has any explanation as to why Cooper Vision or Ciba discontinued so many of their lenses, and I contacted the companies myself. We just have to move on.

Ciba Illusions"have been discontinued as many know. Most all Ciba Vision vial and specialty lenses are also discontinued. I recommend FreshLook ColorBlends in the "Sterling Gray" to anyone in the same situation I am in. I ordered these after trying on just about every other brand and shade still available. They are comfortable, look very realistic on dark eyes, and are affordable. I am not thrilled about this change, but I am pleased with the affect of Freshlook Colorblends. I also ordered the "Gemstone Green" shade (a fairly new shade) which looks great. The three colors on the lens give a lot of depth and they are nearly undetectable even in bright sunlight. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE! I know this situation sucks!

I had never heard of the Solotica lenses before. Are these vial lenses (the kind you wear for a year)? Nice to know there are other options - my eye care practitioner told me the only choice for colored lenses now was FreshLook.

The Solotica Natural Colors "Verde" shade looks absolutely lovely, and seems like a pretty good substitute for the Durasoft 3 "Jade Green" I've been wearing. Have you worn these lenses, and if so, what color? Are the Natural Colors and Hidrocor both suitable for people with dark eyes? My biggest complaint about the FreshLook ColorBlends is that they seem more like enhancers for light eyes than a true color-changing opaque.

Thanks for the suggestion!

BTW, it *appears* the Natural Touch lenses are still available as of today on lens.com (including Sultry Grey). There's no mention of "discontinued" on there FWIW. Would love to see a photo of someone wearing the "Willow Green"...anyone?

I went to the Coopervision website and Natural Touch contact lenses are not even listed. Then I did a search for "natural touch contacts available." Some sites said that they were available, and other sites said that they weren't. Have you contacted Coopervision? The Consumer Care number is 1-855-5-COOPER or 1-855-526-6737. The hours are from 9:00AM-5:00PM EST Mon-Fri. That leaves me out because I can't really make phone calls from work. I may try to sneak out into the hallway or something and see what happens.

I did a Google search in the Shopping section and found 222 results for natural touch contact lenses, and none on the first page look like they've been discontinued. Still, they're not on Lens.com anywhere. Maybe they stopped selling them at that website.

They are not available on any of these sights! if you google it "yes" it pulls them up however, when you look to the checkout button it says UNAVAILABE.

Sorry guys I ended up bitig the bullet and buying FX eyes ice blue in the their natural section. If you have an old contact you can send to the artist along with a photo of you and he can match one that most fits.

Thanks for taking that extra step. So you can find the phrase in Google, but "Natural Touch" is always followed by "Unavailable," when you see the web page, right?

So instead of the Nautural Touch lenses you got "FX Eyes" contacts in Ice Blue? If you're recommending them then I think it means you like them. That's great.

Yes I have ordered them I am not sure if I like them as I have not received yet. They take about 8 weeks as they are hand painted. We will see ! i am trying to be optimistic ! The artist said I will love them as he doesnt have many people who are not satisfied. He also said if they are too bright he would tone them down. Tough it is double the price we shall see! I will post pix when i receive them.

It sounds like you'll be getting them just in time for Thanksgiving.
I look forward to seeing those pictures. It sounds like artist is pretty confident in his skills.

Are you saying that you can send them a pair of your contacts and they will paint those for you? If so, that sounds great! I would hate to drop down such a huge chunk of change for a beautiful lens that makes my eyes feel awful due to the material it is made out of not being compatible with my eyes, even if all the measurements are right.

8 weeks for expensive, hand-painted contact lenses. How long can you wear them? Hopefully they'll last a year. It would be a shame if you had to throw those lenses away and then wait for the next pair to arrive.
I think after all that I'd frame my old lenses rather than throw them away!

You're right, KITT. If they had just been discontinued the page would still be there with a note saying that the brand had been discontinued.

8 weeks, huh?

Well, that was about a month ago now. Do you get updates from time to time about how your hand painted contact lenses are coming along?

Yeah, that would be good to know. Like when you get an email saying "We have received your inquiry and we want you to know that it's receiving our full attention and we'll reply as soon as we possibly can."

Thumbs down best lenses to lighten eyes is soflens colours

The best lenses to replace natural touch at the moment is Bausch and Lomb Durasoft colours (soflens) If you want a good replacement for the sultry gray-look no further than platinum, in this coloured range-type bausch and lomb pacific into you tube and you will see what i mean-they are very bright and very natural whilst really lightening yur eye colour. they are far better than freshlook, as freshlook colours/colourblends dnt lighten your eyes completely-the green colourblends look wishy washy-murky, but the colir jade in softens is amazing-as is amazon. They are avaialble to order from contactlenses.co.uk who also ship worldwide, FX lenses are also great but very very expensive

Thank you for your recommendation, cherrypie.

So what do you think of Durasoft Colors as replacements for Natural Touch?

I hope someone can find a replacement for Natural Touch contact lenses. I can't find a website that will tell me.

Durasoft Colors are no longer available anywhere. The post from cherrypie is a little confusing. What he/she referred to as "Bausch and Lomb Durasoft colours (soflens)" is actually Soflens Natural Colour by Bausch and Lomb. These are no longer sold in the US but can be purchased online from European vendors. The Durasoft Colors lenses were most recently made by CIBA and the entire line has sadly been discontinued. It was a fantastic lens.

Isn't it rather complicated ordering contact lenses from European vendors if you don't live in Europe? Don't you have to convert currency and wait ages for them to be shipped to you?

I'm pretty sure most of the sites selling them have currency converters right on the site. I haven't ordered from Europe, so I don't know about shipping times, but I got lenses from Brazil in just under 4 weeks, and that was during the Christmas season. For some people, that's too long to wait, but to me, it was worth it.

That's pretty good for ordering during Christmas. Is that the only time you've ordered those lenses so far?

Oh, they're great! I've finally found something that is truly a good replacement for my discontinued DuraSoft lenses. I tried every colored lens on the American market in my prescription, and was disappointed with all of them.

I've only ordered internationally once, so I can't really say what a typical delivery time would be. I know some people have received their orders in the US within two weeks or less.

I will definitely be ordering Solotica lenses again. In fact, since these ended up costing considerably less than my DuraSofts, and way less than buying, say, a year's worth of FreshLooks, I may order another pair very soon, just for the fun of it!

What was it about the other lenses you didn't like? Were they uncomfortable? Was the color wrong?

It was mostly the appearance. The "colorblend" type lenses didn't provide any noticeable change in my eye color, and the straight opaque lenses all seemed to have jarringly vibrant colors that screamed "fake" even from a reasonable distance. A lot of them had weird streaky patterns or lines in them that I've never seen in a natural eye. Overall, they just fell short in terms of giving me a noticeable change, while still looking like they could be my natural color.

I did find the FreshLook line (which the manufacturer of my old lenses, CIBA, claims is a *wonderful* replacement) to be quite drying and uncomfortable, in addition to being an asthetic disappointment.

The other issue for me is that I find the annual replacement vial lenses to be easier to handle than the thinner disposables. They just have a sturdier feel, and don't fold in on themselves. Once they're in my eyes, I don't feel them at all.

Thanks to lens101, I found a better option. I'm happy

Wow, yeah. Those contact lenses are . . . very blue.

Have you thought about switching brands rather than getting your present lenses fixed?

Damn I'm surprised, usually Fxeyes are the mercedes of colored contacts...but those remind me of Solotica Hidrosummer Gloss Branca, and not in a good way

I don't think they can fix the pupil hole but they should be able to darken up that color for you

i loooooove illusions and natural touch but bummer they are discontinued.....!

the only lenses with comparable opaqueness and color/tint quality is solotica hidrocharme however they are not available in North America.

No other brand or opaque lenses come close to the tint style.

I love the way natural touch lenses look so dont worry im an ecp as well and Im totally bummed out that illusions and natural touch is discontinued.

They may not be sold in North America but they are readily available online--as long as the BC isn't too large someone who used Illusions or Natural Touch should be just fine with Soloticas

Once again people find a product made in other countries better than the one made in the United States. I guess the Americans can't get everything right.

Are you sure? That may be an old page that's showing up in a Google search. I'm fairly certain lens.com doesn't sell these discontinued lenses any longer. You'll notice that this brand is no longer listed in their pull-down menu. So disheartening for people who used to love them. But many of us have found other lenses we like just as much on the international market. It's not as convenient as going to your eye doctor and trying lenses on to see how they look and feel, but it's all we've got...for now.
