I wasn't sure what category I should've posted this, so I apologize in advance for posting this in the wrong section.
Anyway, I have recently received my Soleko Perlas in the mail. I'm asian so my eyes are the darkest of brown you can imagine. I really like the color of these lenses. So I will go ahead and post the pros/cons! Pros: - Color is very very opaque. It comes out WHITE in the vials but it magically blends in with your natural eye color to make it blue. - Has a diameter of 14.0 mm so it doesn't enlarge your iris. Cons: - Has a base curve of 8.7 which doesn't suit my eyes very well, hence making it less comfortable. - I'm not a big fan of the patterning on the lens itself, although it still looks "natural" from afar. - The pupil hole is way too large for my taste. This is a great lens to wear at night so it's more natural looking but it would look odd during a sunny day. Overall, I'm liking these lens for the color ONLY, I'm not too fond of the comfort and pupil hole The first picture was taken indoors with a desk lamp on. The second and third picture was again taken indoors with natural light. P.S. I will be adding more pictures soon! Last edited by SoniaF; 01-11-2011 at 06:09 PM.. |

I have a question, though. Why do you have an 8.7 base curve if it doesn't fit you very well? Is that the only BC they come in? |

I have a BC of around 8.2 so a BC of 8.7 was a big jump for me. Yes, the soleko perla only came in a 8.7 BC which is too bad! Same with freshlook colorblends, I believe. I have never tried the Freshlook series but I would imagine they would feel as uncomfortable as the Soleko ones. The most comfortable color lenses I currently own are the Acuvue 2 Opaques! Their BC is 8.2 (or 8.3 I forgot) but I can barely feel them on my eyes even after wearing them for hours! |

Those contacts look nice, but I'm concerned about that base curve. I don't know how you even got contact lenses with a base curve of 8.7 if you need 8.2. My guess is you didn't get a prescription for those 8.7 lenses from your eye doctor. Do they fit comfortably? You seem pretty happy in the pictures. Your eyes don't look watery or red. I still think you should wear the proper size, though. |

Usually you can wear a range of BC's - it depends on the material of the lens. However 8.2 to 8.7 is a bit of a jump, as the OP said, so they are a bit too flat for her eyes....hence the sliding. If you are wearing 8.2 BC comfortably then you shouldn't go above a 8.4 or 8.5..........which sucks bc the "one size fits most" BC is usually 8.6 or 8.7! |
