Default Illusions - Are they comfortable??

I just recently purchased Freshlooks Colors (not the Colorblends) in blue and was kind of disappointed at the comfort of them. They dry out my eyes. I was looking into an annual lens, more specifically Illusions in Soft Blue but am hesitant to spend that much on a lens if it's not going to be comfortable. I am thinking I'm going to exchange my Freshlooks colors for just the clear at Walmart if they will let me.

Please let me know if Illusions are comfortable. I tried Solotica last year and oh my were they horrible! I wouldn't recommend them. They are soo thick and my eyes could not breathe!

If you have had experience with Illusions before please let me know if they are worth the money. Thank you.

Hi trinitygrace. It's nice to see your name in this forum again.

I found a website that has reviews of different contact lenses. Let's pretend that FreshLook Illusions is a movie and see what the reviewers said. These are actual quotes copied and pasted from the website:

"Simply the BEST!"
"Illusions, everlasting love!"
"Illusion color contacts...WOW!"
"Illusions way to go for natural looking eyes as well as comfort"
"Don't buy any other!!!!!"

Are you seeing a trend here?

Not for a little more detail. The person who said "Illusion color contacts...WOW!" went on to say "They are very comfortable too!" Most of the reviewers raved about how natural they look. All reviewers gave Illusions either 4 or 5 stars out of a maximum of 5 for comfort.

I think it's time you gave Illusions a try. If you have your prescription handy you can order from Lens.com right here: http://www.lens.com/contact-lenses/lens153.asp

I think I am going to try them! I've done some research too on YouTube and other sites. They seem to get really good reviews in both natural looking color and comfort. They look a light bluish green on dark brown eyes which is what I looking for. I also like the fact that they are 50% cheaper on lens.com compared to walmart and 1-800 contacts which means I can get both lenses for the price of one lens at walmart.

How does the prescription work? I have my prescription handy and the name and number of my eye doctor. Does lens.com just call
and confirm my rX? It says shipping is only 5-7 days which is awesome. I can't wait to try illusions!

Yay for Lens.com!

Just click on the bright red box at the top right corner of this page. Have your prescription handy and enter the numbers on the website when you order. Then, you're right, Lens.com will conform your prescription information with your doctor and send your contacts right out to you. Please don't hesitate to call them if you have any questions about the ordering process. Their number is easy to remember: 1-800 LENS.COM or 1-800-536-7266.

I'm looking forward to seeing your picture with your Illusions contacts, and I'd also like to hear about your ordering experience once you're done. Were they nice to you? Did they get your order right? Was the price the same as was quoted on the website? You know, all that good stuff.

Enjoy your Illusions!

Vitaman-

I will definitely let you know how my experience is with ordering through lens.com and will post pics of the illusions when they arrive. I am going to wait a little bit until I order them. I will definitely post my experience and photos though in a few weeks.

That's awesome, Trinitygrace. I hope you have a good experience to tell us about--or else the sponsor is going to be rather embarrassed.

Illusions were the first contacts I purchased back 12 years ago - I wore them for many years until I started wearing Freshlooks for the past 4 years. In my opinion, the Illusions are much much more comfortable than the Freshlooks. In fact I am very disappointed in the comfort of the Freshlooks...my vision is always blurry so I opted out to look for something else now and recently ended up getting the Solotica.

Hi bluechick. Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm curious though. Why did you stop wearing Illusions contact lenses? You wore them for "many years" until you switched to FreshLooks. Then the FreshLook lenses didn't work out, so why didn't you you go back to Illusions at that time?

Honestly, I did plan on going back to Illusions after my first FreshLooks. I did feel that the Illusions were much more comfortable and far more natural looking color contacts compared to other ones that are available here in the United States but the main reason I didn't go back to Illusions was that they made my iris look small then they actually are and especially compared to the FreshLooks. My eyes are big and FreshLooks give me that pop, making my eyes standout whereas the Illusions didn't. Also, I've just recently go the Solotica Hidrocor and I experienced the same thing with them, my eyes don't standout. I believe I have an old pic with the Illusions if you wanted to take a look please let me know and I'll try to have it up.

I have been wearing Illusions for a few years now. I love them. They are very comfortable. Unfortunately they were just discontinued. Ciba Vision is stating they are going to process all orders that have been placed but they are not taking any new orders.

I have not heard that. If it's true, that sucks because I really wanted to keep ordering them if I liked them. Well, I guess I can wear them for a year and then no longer

According to a message on Lens.com, there's a problem with the manufacturing process and CIBAVision will temporarily stop making Illusions, but when the problem is fixed, they will start making them again.

Unless, of course, they can't fix the problem . . .

Thank you for clearing this up. Ciba made it sound like orders in process would be shipped soon. It sounds like that isn't going to happen.

How knows. It might be tomorrow, it might be three years from now. We just need to hear from CIBA Vision giving the "all clear" and the factory opens up again.
