Default Solotica Hydrocharme Verde - anyone?

I'm seriously considering buying a pair, but what's holding me back is that I can't seem to find ANY pictures or videos of anyone wearing the Verde! Tons of Verde Marine (too blue) and Mel (too pale and greyish), but no Verde (in the Hydrocharme, Hydrocor OR Natural Colors ranges, just nothing..). Has anyone ever tried them? Are they a decent bright green?

I've got Freshlooks Colorblends Gemstone Green at the moment and they're a nice colour, but the Solotica lenses in other colours that I've seen look so much less printed. Plus the Freshlooks I get are 14.5 diameter and slightly overhang ONE of my irises (how wierd is that?!), they're comfortable but I lose the limbal ring on that eye, whereas the Soliticas I'd get would be 14.2 and would probably fit better. Plus again, one pair of yearly lenses supplemented with the occasional monthly Freshlook lens would mean I could vary colours rather than having one pair per month and no variation..

I suspect judging by the total lack of pictures on google I shall get no replies, but worth a shot!

Here's a closeup of a Verde eyeball, although on the other website it's called "Verde Marine" for some reason.

It looks like someone I've seen here on Lens 101, but that's not where I got the picture from. I hope it helps.

That gives a good idea of what the lenses look like. I hope it's what p01son1vy needs.

Nope, sorry! As I said, there's also a colour called Verde Marine, but that's a different colour from the Verde - Verde is supposed to be a strong green, Verde Marine is, as you can see in the picture, more bluey. And there's oodles of stuff on google and youtube about Verde Marine but nothing at all about Verde

Maybe that should tell you something about those Verde lenses if no one wants to talk about them . . .

/\ But if they sucked, you'd feel that somewhere you'd find people saying 'these lenses suck!' I just figure maybe it's not such a popular colour, that most people seem to go for grey-ish colours..there's so many videos on youtube of eyeballs, many people seem to upload every lense they try, it feels like no one's tried them at all...

Thinking maybe the hidrocor might be better than the hydrocharme, being more opaque, shame about losing the limbal ring though, dunno why they did that... I shall continue to deliberate, decision to buy may well depend on bank balance rather than finding evidence that they're good!

If your bank balance is the deciding factor, why not look at some of the color contact lenses offered at Lens.com? They don't sell Solotica lenses, but they have a whole bunch of others to choose from like Acuvue 2 Colours, FreshLook Radiance, CibaSoft SoftColors and Natural Touch Opaque, just to name a few, and some of them are a lot less expensive that Soloticas.

/\ I've done much browsing and the Solotica lenses just look so much less printed on than all the others. FreshLook ColorBlends are what I've got at the moment and they're fine, but I rather fancy trying out the Soloticas before settling on Freshlooks forever. Plus, £62 for a yearly lense isn't really that bad (ha, well, providing I like them and don't just consign them to the 'if I ever run out of nice lenses' bin!), buuut it's enough of a pricetag to make you think about it for a while first!

Exactly. Well, I hope you find what you're looking for and when you do, perhaps you'll consider posting some pictures here on Lens 101.

Well, I've gone for it. Decided on the hidrocor rather than hydrocharme in the end, should be here in about 12 days. Will definately post photos, whether they're good or bad!

Awesome. Have you posted pictures here before? Do you need help on how to do it?

/\ I've posted before in the colorblends section, hopefully by the time I get my Soloticas I'll have my 15 posts and be able to post in the text rather than attaching!

Did actually find some pics of the hidrocor Verde lenses in the end last night - http://www.lentesesteticas.com/blog/25-solotica-hidrocor-verde-fotos.aspx ..looks pretty good..my eyes aren't brown though, so they'll be different on me, but it's promising

Edit to add: actually that site is BRILLIANT for pictures of Solotica lenses, there's loads of pics on the Blog page, with comparisons between Hydrocharme, Hidrocor and Natural Colors lenses in the same shades, which is really interesting. I've just sent an email to see if I can change my order to Hydrocharme, the Hidrocor are nice but the Hydrocharme are just as green and still have the limbal ring, much prettier

Thanks for the tip, p01son1vy. I look forward to seeing those pictures of your new contacts. Have you been wearing colored contacts for a long time?

Managed to change my order to Hydrocharme, yay!

No, I've only been wearing contacts at all for just over a month or so. I was very phobic about poking my eye, so I always thought I wouldn't be able to put contact lenses in or out. Once I found out you could get affordable coloured prescription lenses though that gave me a bit more incentive to try it! First of all I got some red, vampirey looking non-prescription lenses to play with (awesome for clubbing, even though I have to wear glasses over the top), and since I could get them in and out ok I started on the prescription ones. Definately a good decision!

Good. Welcome to the world of contact lenses, p01son1vy. What would you say to the others out there reading this who, like you were, are "very phobic about poking their eye"?

I'd recommend to anyone to give it a go! My major fear was that I'd get the contact IN, but then panic and not be able to get it out, so the day I first tried I made sure it was daytime in case I needed to go to an optician or a doctor to get it removed! Actually though, I found getting them in quite tricky, but out was no problem - once I knew it wouldn't get stuck in my eye there was nothing to fear. Also you very quickly learn that touching your eye with a contact lens doesn't sting or hurt at all, and once that barrier's crossed it's all easy.

The other day I had an eyelash in my eye, and for the first time in my life I was able to just pick it straight out - eyephobia conquered!

I actually tried to have lazer Eye Surgery a few years back, but even after taking a LOT of valium I was just freaking out. They got the clamps on and I could see the needle/lazer/thing coming down to my eye, and I just freaked out completely and we had to give up on the whole idea. In retrospect I'm really glad, I find the idea of unnecessary eye surgery a bit scary, and now I've found coloured contacts, well, that's WAY better than lazer surgery!

Thanks for responding so fast, p01son1vy. I'm glad to know that handling contact lenses comes easily for you. I think most people are afraid that when the contact lens touches their eye it will hurt or be uncomfortable, but that's not the case, is it?

One more general question. Have you even had a contact lens kind of "slip out of place" a little? When that happens does it feel weird or just look strange because your contact is off-center?

/\ Used to take me half an hour per eye to get them in, but it's usually first time these days, the lesson they gave me at Vision Express was very helpful

When I first got them, the right one was ALWAYS sliding over, but that rarely seems to happen now. I have found that if things go blurry, eyedrops usually sort it out, so I always carry them on me when I've got the lenses in. Usually when it happens it doesn't LOOK odd, I just see blurs at one edge of my vision where I'm slightly looking through the coloured part. But the other day I was taking pictures of my contacts and things went very blurry but I carried on - those pictures DID look rather wierd, so it's definately not something to just ignore or I'll look like a freak!

I love coming to this page, scrolling down and seeing that big green eye staring at me.
