Default Circle / Large diameter lenses for GREEN eyes

I'm looking for something that will cover the colour of my eyes for a dressup party.
My eyes are naturally green/brown but they aren't dark, nor light, which IMO makes contacts very hard to get...

But I'd like them to be pretty large ('circle' lenses, I think?) I just don't want something bad that will ruin my eyes.

Thoughts?

Welcome to Lens 101 Jessraat.

Whatever lenses you get, if you live in the United States you have to have a prescription for contact lenses. If you're concerned about ruining your eyes, see an eye doctor for a fitting.
While you're waiting for an appointment, there's a section here in Lens 101 all about novelty contact lenses like the ones you're asking about.

I'm curious about circle lenses too but I've spent too much money on lenses this month so they'll have to wait a while!
I think for green eyes, you could either get some that are green and would hopefully blend into your eyes, or ones that are just a black outline so would be like a really think limbal ring round your natural eye. That's the sort of thing I'm thinking of (grey/blue eyes). The pale brown ones look gorgeous on dark eyes just to add a bit of colour but I suspect that wouldn't work so well on green eyes.

As for the safety of them, that's the slightly questionable bit since they generally come from foreign countries and are pretty cheap. EOS ones seem to be fairly widely recommended. There's a MASSIVE thread on circle lenses here: http://www.soompi.com/forums/topic/122581-c-i-r-c-l-e-l-e-n-s-official-thread/ with lots of pictures and reviews, both of the lenses themselves and of the sites they've been bought from - reading all that and seeing no mention of anyone having trouble with them has made me feel rather more confident about trying them!

If you do decide to give them a try, I hope you'll come back here and show us some pictures.

/\ Yep, most definately, I dare say anything and everything I try will end up being posted! It'll probably be a while though, I think what with ordering from foreign countries it's usually a 14 day - 1 month wait for them even once I've ordered them.. but I am intrigued to see how they'll look - it's really easy to find hundreds of pictures of them on dark eyes, but not so easy to see how they'll look on lighter eyes.

Okay, we'll look forward to those pictures. Have you posted any pictures of yourself on Lens 101 before?
Now it's time to find a way to be patient until your lenses arrive. I hope they give you a color effect that you'll like.

/\ Yep, there's a couple in the colorblends section. Currently I've got a pair of Clearly Colors in the post, should arrive next week, I'll probably crack open my Honey Freshlooks next week too, and at some point in the vague future my first pair of Soloticas should arrive too. Hence the lack of funds, hope they're worth it! So yeah, more pictureness to come

Here's how I decide on whether to start a new thread. If I'm commenting on something that was said in a post, then I can just tack it on. If I want to ask another question, I start a new thread. This looks to me like a new question.

You probably will want to poke around lens.com for a color that you like. To start you off, here's a lovely blonde woman wearing Natural Touch contact lenses in Baby Blue.

I've never posted on that forum, I only found it recently searching for circle lense stuff, but I would have thought given the size of the thread and the fact that it's like a ultimate circle lense thread, if you DO make a new topic the mods will probably merge it with the big thread anyway. It seems to be an active thread though, so post your question there and I'd have thought you'll get an answer. I've read back a few pages there and there are some pictures of caucasian people, so it's possible that someone will be able to show you what they look like over lighter eyes.

What would the new topic be? Is that like starting a new thread that says "something for a dressup party"?

How did your dress up party go, Jessraat? Did you get any comments about your costume?

Jessraat isn't talking, I guess. Perhaps the answer to your question will remain an unsolved mystery.
