Yeah, that picture makes you feel pretty special, doesn't it? Congratulations.

I seem to be one of the few people that have not contributed until now.

Right. So how are you feeling overall? Are you happy with your contact lenses? Do you have more than one brand at the moment?

That's quite a collection. I've never heard of World Series and Nucolor. Are those sold in the United States? (It would be strange if World Series was not sold in the US.)

I purchased the World Series from lenscircle.com & NuColor from bestcoloredcontacts.com. Everyone always asks me if they're from the U.S., truth is, I never check. If it's in English & they look good, I get 'em! Lol

The last pair that I posted pix up are the NuColor Sky Blues. I wasn't going for a more natural look but the end results were very nice as well. Striations on lenses look very neat.

Thanks for your answer, Shakibabe88. I still wonder though; was there a time, maybe three weeks into your new lenses that you had thoughts of giving up on them?

Without a doubt. Especially since I don't really need them for vision. Luckily, I'm stubborn and goal oriented. It's gonna happen! Lol

It's very pleasant compared to my past history (attempting to wear contacts). My eyes are well adjusted

Hi Shakibabe88, I have been looking at your pictures and I love your contacts! I have a quick question for you since you are the color contact guru. I want to order some Soloticas but I cannot choose which one. I want to achieve the MOST natural look of all. I am asian, but full Vietnamese. I have dark brown eyes and an olive complexion. I have had people think I am mixed before with white and once I got hispanic! (wtf?!) Anyways, I'm thinking the Ocre would look good on me since it would give me a lighter brown color. I was debating on Mel but they say it would look more green and I haven't seen an asian girl with naturally green eyes before. But I'm debating between the hydrocor ocre, or hydrocharme ocre, or natural color ocre? I CANNOT CHOOSE. I really love that photo of you in the hdyrochrome Ocre..looks like it's your natural eyes. Which one do you think ? Would you write the pros and cons of the hydrochrome? Thanks so much!!

Thank you for following me on this thread :P Here's what I conjured up lol
If you have received comments that you are mixed, I would think you have a lighter olive complexion. Therefore, you can pull of Mels.

Hydrocor Ocre: I have never taken much liking to the Hydrocor line only because they do not have a defined border around the iris. Because of that, it tends to make the color even lighter, making it even harder to believe they're real, even though they are close to your natural colors.

Hydrocharme Ocre: I like the defined border around the iris but to me, both lenses didn't quite match that well in color. Even after the replacement lenses came, I still felt the tones were slightly off. Unsure if this is due to another defect (I just haven't had much luck with these lol). However, I would choose these over the hydrocor ocres.

Natural Colors Ocre: In my opinion, these are happy medium between the hydrocor & hydrocharme line. It has a more subtle iris border compared to the hydrocharme line, which makes the look more natural and the iris color more light (mimicking the hydrocor).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Natural Colors Mel: From your description, I would also recommend trying out the Mels. It's a natural mix of brown and a hint of green. Very pretty! I would never consider any Solotica greens only because they're way too pigmented (fake). My boyfriend's natural eye color is hazel and it looks a lot like these Mels. He is a quarter white mixed with filipino.

Thank you so much for replying. Yes, I have been on Youtube like crazy trying to find eyes similar to mine and I'm back to the same question. Hydrocharme or natural color. I wanted the natural color ocre and I'm afraid it will not show up on my eyes? What do you think? I also will try Mels when I try the Ocre first as a trial run in comfortness. I wear contacts ALL the time to be able to see clearly. I heard you aren't suppose to wear these for a long time because it will irritate your eyes. Also, I came across another problem. The diameter and the base curve is NOT the same as mine. My diameter is 13.8 and soloticas are 14.2. My base curve is 8.6 and the soloticas are 8.7. So now I don't even know if I purchase these lens if there going to fit and do damage to my eyes!

If you want something very close to your natural eye, go with natural ocre. If you want a more definitive border, go with hydrocharmes. However, please consult your optometrist before purchasing any of the lenses. Safety first!

Well there is a lot of people who don't wear contacts to see and they just order colored contacts online that don't need a prescription. Yet, if they were to wear lenses that don't fit there eyes, regardless for cosmetic uses or seeing uses, they can deprive the eyes of oxygen and damage the cornea. I am going to call my doctor and see if the difference would be okay to wear on Monday. Because I really want these!

It's good to see someone being smart about ordering color contact lenses. I hope you find some really great contact lenses, thuynwin.

Thanks and I hope so too. Yeah, I would rather be able to see for the rest of my life rather than look cute for a day. Hopefully the doctor would say it would be okay if he says no, then sucks =( but at least i'll save about 100.00! Did you know there is ACTUALLY permanent eye color surgery now? I saw it on the Tyra banks show and this guy have surgery to change his color from dark brown to blue! I have ALWAYS wondered if they were able to do that. I saw a video when a guy actually had just clear contacts surgically put into his eye so he would be able to see without wearing glasses and contacts for the rest of his life. I think he wasn't able to get eye laser surgery due to some problem with his eye. It was pretty crucial to watch.

There are posts about that Eye Surgery here in Lens 101. Just check the "eye surgery" section.
