Default Solotica Hydrocharme Ice and Ocre Pix

Sorry for the wait...but here they are :]

The first set of pictures are of the Ice contacts. I absolutely love these colored lens. It took over a month for them to arrive but the end product was definitely worth it. It's hard to find lens that actually look gray on my dark brown eyes.

Solotica Hydrocharme Ocre Pix

Okay, I must say, I am pretty disappointed in these Here are my reasons, one deviates as I look from side to side, contact colors are not the same (one has lighter striations than the other), too close to my natural eye color and finally, not as comfortable as my other pair. Of course, this is only my experience so please take that into consideration. I have contacted wrlens regarding a possible difference in lens base curve and manufacture flaw in color. I doubt they'll refund my money or exchange the item but we will see what they say.

Hey, those are great pictures, Shakibabe88. Thanks for posting them and making Lens 101 look even better. The lenses look really nice on you. They look pretty natural even though you have dark brown eyes. I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures.

Wow, you have an "exotic" beauty, Shakibabe88. Where are you from? Those lenses look really good on you.

Happy to post and thank you for the compliment. Soloticas definitely create a natural look for dark brown eyes. Highly recommended

Aw, don't be so modest. You've got beautiful hair and smooth skin, and pretty eyes. That picture in the upper left corner; is that your natural eye color?

Those contacts really do look nice on you.

It's not just the makeup, Shakibabe88. Makeup can only do so much. You've got a good canvas to start with. If I were to wear some makeup, the results would not be so appealing.

How come you didn't just post those pictures here? Did you post them at the link above as a more direct answer to a question in that thread?

Yeah, it's best to keep all your pictures together if possible. People may not look at them at all if they have to search for them. Let's not forget that this is the generation who invented "The Clapper" and the "Twirling Spaghetti Fork."

As far as I know there's no limit to the number of pictures you can post. There was a guy who posted about twenty huge pictures of himself in every possible color of contact lenses. Lens 101 handled that just fine. (Some of the members were a bit taken aback, however.)

It's good to know there isn't a limit. It'll be beneficial when I find another decent pair of contacts thank you for the information.

Hold on, how many colors are you asking about here? You said "natural colors ice or hidrocolor ice, or hidrocrome ice." So there are three colors you want to ask about, right?

Natural Colors Ice
Hidrocolor Ice
Hidrochrome Ice

Right?

Punctuation. It's a beautiful thing.

You're right, Wookiee74. Punctuation is becoming a lost art. i suppose theres a whole new generation that can read sentences like this easily they seem like they can even do it without any periods commas or capital letters or anything to indicate any kind of pause except perhaps the spaces between words but i suppose thosewillbegonesoontoo

Hi Everyone! Sorry for the VERY delayed reply. I've been tied up for a few months. I will try and get the Raptor eyes as well as the REPLACEMRN pair of Soloticas hydrocharme Ocres, I received today (Yes, it's been about 4 freaking months) up this weekend.

Hi Sunshine, in my opinion, the hydrocor line is the lightest. However, it also depends on your natural eye color. Check out Michelle Phan's "ice princess" look on YouTube. She is wearing the hydrocors hope this helps

I use opti-free rewetting drops as well as systane ultra (because my eyes sometimes get irritated by contacts)

Solotica Hydrocharme Ocre Replacement Pix

It took wrlens over 4 months to get my replacement lenses. I'm glad the wait is finally over. Lenses are definitely more comfortable than the first pair. I notice slight deviation in one eye but other than that, happy with the replacements.

Green Tri-Color

Sorry to those who were expecting me in Velociraptor form lol My lenses just didn't want to show that side of themselves...

Dolly Lenses

I love wearing these for a cutesy look. As you can tell, they are oversized to create the doll like look.

**Both Tri-Color & Dolly Lenses were purchased at lenscircle.com**
**For those who don't know me, I only purchase & wear contacts for leisure. That is why I don't purchase them from lens.com**

Thanks for those great pictures, Shakibabe88. You might have made it as a finalist for Lens 101's Official contact lens Model, but you don't buy them from Lens.com. What does "I only purchase & wear contacts for leisure" mean?

Also, doesn't four months seem like a really long time to wait? Is that going to happen every time you order contact lenses?

Hi Foxy, I didn't even know there were competitions on here. :P I don't use contacts for vision correction. That's why I don't need to buy a whole pack. They're purely my "fun-tacts." I like shop surfing on the net to see what new lenses these manufactures have come up with. It also helps in giving reviews and answering questions for my fellow lens chameleons

Also, a 4 month wait is outrageous. I was very upset with wrlens/solotica labs. The average length of time I wait for wrlens is 1- 1.5 months. I love the natural look of Soloticas and will be a loyal customer. However, the wait time is one of their downfalls. It could possibly be due to my location & their customs check.

So you only wear contact lenses to change the color of your eyes, right? I guess in that case the optics only have to be clear, but the color should probably look pretty good. You could get vial lenses that only come one pair at a time, but you can wear that pair for a year if you take care of them. They're pretty expensive though.

You're right. Four months is a very long time to wait for contact lenses. Would you be willing to buy a brand that was made in the US? They may not look as great as Soloticas but at least you'll be able to wear them in the same season that you order them, right?

You're absolutely right! Vial lenses that last a whole year. Occasionally, I'll get a pair that only last 3 months.

I would definitely consider purchasing contacts in the US if they looked ballpark range of the Soloticas. I haven't seen ran into any lovable US ones just yet. Maybe in the future.
Luckily for me, since I am not in a rush to wear them, the wait is.... Annoying but tolerable

Did you find any that were close? For me to wait months and months for contact lenses, they'd have to look pret-ty good. I'd be willing to settle for something that was 80% as good if I could reduce the wait period. If I could save money too, that would be make them even a better bargain. What about you?

I haven't found any similar to solotica color quality. Soloticas are flawless against my natural eye color. Two thumbs up for the color striations
Again, I'm not on a time restraint so the wait is tolerable. As for the price, the individual vial lenses run about the same on the different sites I shop at. Soloticas are the exception due to their quality & natural look & origin.

You know, every time I see that title that says Solotica Hydrocharme Ice and Ocre Pix I see "Ice Pix" and I picture something like this:

Again, I'm not on a time restraint so the wait is tolerable. As for the price, the individual vial lenses run about the same on the different sites I shop at. Soloticas are the exception due to their quality & natural look & origin.
We get some people here once in a while that really like the Solotica lenses, but you can't get them in the US. So for those of us Yankees who would like to get as close to Soloticas as possible, what brand would you recommend?

If you need a visual reference, Lens.com has pictures of a whole bunch of contact lenses.

My Solotica alternative would be Adore Bi-Tone in Gray. I haven't checked the manufacturer's origin but I know you can get them in the US. I purchased mine from koreabigeyes.com

She loves the look but still dislikes the fact that I stick unnecessary things in my eyes. My dad also lectures me about possible corneal damage >.< "worry- it's what parents do." :P

Yeah. Parents are like that.

No disrespect to your father, but I don't see how you can damage your corneas with contact lenses as long as you wear them properly.

Agreed. It's all about proper wear and care. He just feels that if something that doesn't belong is on my eyeball, it makes me more prone to having an incidence.

That comment was pertaining to unnecessary contact placements for someone like me, who doesn't need it for vision. Thank you for your eyelash input. :P

If you just want to change the color of your eyes and you don't need vision correction, I don't see anything wrong with wearing color contact lenses. That's why they make color contacts in "plano."
Of course if you want to change your eye color from one that matches your mother's eyes to something else, I can see why she might pretend to object, but that's not really a very good reason to complain.

I'm not saying that this is true of your mom, Shakibabe88, but some parents need to let their children make their own decisions.

Like I said, in the end, they're both parents. When do parents ever stop nagging about something? Lol
I agree with what you said. However, the concept of letting their children make their own decisions is still foreign to old school Asian parents. 3rd generation Asian americans tend to be more Americanized and liberal. Mine were half and half. How did I ever make it out alive?! Im joking...

What do you mean "half and half"? Do you have one Asian parent and one American or something? Judging by the pictures, they got the recipe for you just about right.

All right, enough with the flirting. Back to contact lenses. Enjoy them and wear them in good health. Thanks for joining us here on Lens 101.

Hey, why not see if you can get some of your friends to sign up, and then you can introduce them to us. You can say "The person who calls themselves 'eyemonster' is my friend from work" or something. That would be pretty cool, huh?

Awesome. The more people posting on this site, the better.

I hope you have better luck than I did. A couple of my friends posted two or three times and then dropped out. Back then the site wasn't as active as it is now, though.

We shall see. It's hard to find dedicated forumers. The member really has to be enthusiastic about the topic at hand or else it will be short lived.

Adore Bi-Tone Gray

These are my Solotica alternatives.

Gray Tri-Color

These look brown on my eyes in photos, but darker gray in person (In comparison to Solotica and Adore).

They definitely look more natural. I do aim to find contacts that blend better than others. My first choice, Soloticas and then comes the adore

Hi Shakibabe88. I think those contact lenses look really good on you. The grey ones really do look brown in the picture, though.

Forgive me if someone has already asked you this, but have you gotten some opinions from your family and friends about your contact lenses? What do they think?

Hi Ynot, My family and friends like the Soloticas & Adore lenses very much. Price wise, Soloticas are more steep.

I ordered my Soloticas from wrlens and for me, they took forever. With my luck, I received defective lenses which then took another 2 months to replace. They're lucky I love Soloticas.
Like I previously mentioned, lens.com do not carry Soloticas and the reason I don't order from them is because I purchase for fun. I don't need contacts for vision correction or a month supply. I buy vial lenses that last a year without replacement.

*For those who have been following, I'm sounding more and more like a broken record. Lol

Hi Xwing, I've only wore dress up lenses once and they weren't comfortable at all. That experience kind of ended by pursuit of those type of lenses. Who knows, I just might want to experiment for Halloween.

Thank you for your many contributions to this thread, Shakibabe88. I'm sure you'll look great no matter what you decide to do.

Me, I'm not big on dressing up for Halloween. I tried coming up with some creative original costumes, but no one else though they were as clever as I did and they mocked me, so I gave up. Pretty sad isn't it?

That's messed up! You shouldn't let the haters deter you. As long as youre happy with your creation, it's all good.

Reminds me a line in Rhianna's song, Cheers: "People gon' talk whether you doing bad or good."

In the end, your happiness is what matters most!

I'd rather have people talk about me doing good!

I don't want to get off on a philosophical tangent, but do you really think this world would be a better place if I believe that my happiness is what matters most? Is it more important than your happiness?

Just something to make you put your chin in your hand and go . . . "hmmmm."

The world will be just as bad as they day you and I were born (selfish)That's something that's out of our hands. However, I strongly believe every person holds the key to their own happiness. In the instance mentioned by Wendy, disregarding what others think and pursuing what truely makes her happy is the key. Don't live for others, live for yourself.

I think that living for myself might get lonely. I think Allycat might be on to something. People like to feel like they're helpful to others. That's why this forum works. I could just say "I think these contact lenses look great on me" and then wonder why people are looking at me funny. If I ask the people on this site for some suggestions, I can get the help I need, and maybe people will start telling me how nice my eyes look. Does that make sense to you?

Most def. I understand both of your views. It is hard to get a better judgment with just your opinion, however, it's also nice to break out of the norm and do something drastic to show individuality. Lady gaga for example, she's got a fashion sense that no one will ever understand or fully accept. But, she doesn't let the opinion of others shape her and conform her back into the norm. If we all dressed, talked and acted the "socially accepted" way, what makes us different from the person next door? Absolutely nothing. We would live in a very boring world.

Giving suggestions is one thing, But dawging on some ones hard work is another. kind of get my drift? Again, it's referring back to her Halloween dress up.

Very true. Good thing I'm not trying to be white.

Yeah, those lenses to have kind of an ocean-and-clouds look, don' they? They look really nice on you Shakibabe88.

I also agree with what you said about giving suggestions versus criticizing. They're two different things.

Thank you Lucyfur! My first pair of "oceanic" lenses.

PS. You have a clever name.

Those are beautiful contact lenses. So are your friends wearing now, too?

They really are, VAB. Most of my friends are spectacle wearers because they're uncomfortable with touching their eyeballs. Lol
They are admirers of the different lenses I've purchased though

Good for you. How did you get used to the idea of touching your eyes?

I just kept on practicing. My eyes were so combative at first but eventually, they got used to it.

How long did it take you to train yourself to touch your "combative" eyes?

I would say a little over a month. Every day, I'd put 'em in, leave 'em in for an hour or two, then take 'em out. I not only had to get used to insert & removal but train for endurance wear. My record time for having lenses in would be 12hrs. Rewetting x 1.
