Hello everyone, I am an African-American female and I have been wearing FreshLook ColorBlends in Gray for over a year now, and I really like them but I'm considering buying Solotica's because everyone and their mom says they are the most realistic looking (not considering FXeyes because handpainted ones are extremely expensive). Buttttttttt after reading all these threads, I got a little confused lol. There are hidrocor, hidrocharme, and Natural Colors right? Which one is the most opaque? I want to get the grey color (Ice?) and I think Hidrocor is the best right? right? lol idk :/ I want the one that will be the most dramatic and show up on my dark brown eyes the most.
Also I heard that the newer Solotica's are not as great as the older ones? :/ So could someone please clarify? I would post pictures of me in my colorblends but I'm pretty sure there is a post limit before you could do so, and seeing as this is my first post, I don't think that will work out lol. If someone could respond back it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ! :] |

As far as the pictures, I know you have to have a certain number of posts before you can put pictures up, but I don't know what the minimum number is. If you find out, could you post that minimum number here so we'll all know? Thanks! |

I'm pretty sure the limit is 15 posts before you can post pictures, I read it in some other thread. And the Freshlooks are cool and all, but I would like a change, and more realistic-looking contacts, and since Solotica's seem to be the best, I don't mind going through all that trouble.

One more question. If Solotica "seem to be the best," then what lens would you recommend for those who want to buy American? |

Hidrocor Ice is a brand of Solotica lenses, isn't it? Momalina2 wanted to know which brand of American made contact lenses are the best.

Welcome back beautyy4cheerr. What made you decide you liked Solotica lenses the best?

Hidrocors are the most opaque and will cover your natural colour the best, but do not have any limbal ring what so ever. Natural colours are the least opaque and feature a light limbal ring. I have very dark brown eyes, and they still cover my brown iris well, but they do some blending with your natural colour as well. I would check out videos on youtube of people wearing the lenses to decide which opacity you like best, and whether a limbal ring is important to you. You may also want to look at the graphite colour, which is also a blue-gray, but is darker than ice and tends to look better and more natural on people who have more colour to their skin. You might also like Quartzo, which is a green-gray, or Crystal - which is a lighter green-grey than Quartzo. I would check them all out before forking over $80-$120 plus shipping. It also may be worth noting that you will want to soak these contact in your solution for 2 or 3 days after you get them before wearing them, or they will be very uncomfortable. Cheers, hopesvava |

Oh I see zombies all the time, and for the most part they don't have limbal rings.
![]() Typically you can spot a zombie by their sickly grey skin and their uncanny ability to dance as an ensemble. |

Don't they have yellow cat's eyes, too?

I don't know. I've never actually met a zombie, and I hope I never do. They're creepy.
Remember everybody--buy your contact lenses from America. They're guaranteed zombie-free. They only employ the finest living, breathing human beings to manufacture their products. Don't accept any substitutes. |

Hopesvava, you mentioned several different kinds of lenses in your post. Which ones are the ones that should be soaked for two or three days before you wear them? |
A few days? Couldn't they just pre-soak them before they sell them to you? What's up with that?

I just ordered my Solotica Hidrocharme Ice from there on Friday night. I just got an e-mail that they are shipped. I really hope these look nice on me. I am not sure if you saw the first post/thread I posted here, but I am looking for the most realistic looking contact lenses. I heard great things about Illusions, then heard Solotica is the best alternative for them since Illusions are discontinued. I also heard Soloticas are difficult to spot fake, but then I read some other reviews where they are noticeably fake. Honestly, I have been doing so much research and reading on the subject I think my head may explode! Help!! :P |

Too many times do consumers with issues post concerns but never come back when they finally satisfy their need. I am prepared to do anything to alleviate the brown eyed concerns that may come after me. |

So we can count on you for frequent updates then, can we?

You will probably want to start a new thread, JayDub. This one's getting pretty long.

I can relate to that, but I would much rather compliment someone.

I would say Solotica Quartzo are pretty good. I've had Solotica Quartzo and Hidrocharme Mel and they are both very natural looking. People always complimented me on them and thought it was my natural eye color. The only problem is, that sometimes you get a picture of them online and when you recieve them, you get a different batch then in the picture, and they're a completely different color. Once I've bought hidrocharme mels and they were a light greenish blue color and the last time I bought them they were a dark green/hazel. Still a nice color but completely different than the same ones I've bought before.

Personally, I've only bought Hidrocharme mels twice and noticed that. I've also heard a lot of people having the same problem with their "Mel" color. I contacted a solotica retailer about this and they said it occurs because the company gives them different tones of each lens and each lens is marked with a different tone number, so the same exact color and series of Solotica will look different based on that number. It shouldn't be a huge difference but for some reason, with the Mels it's a big issue and the lens varies in both color and brightness based on the "tone".

Idk. It's dissapointing. I mean, I like the lenses I got but not nearly as much as the ones I've had before.
Yeah, I can imagine. Just think how happy you'd be if you would have gotten the contacts you actually ordered!

Have you gotten this situation sorted out yet, TabbyKitty? Have you decided to keep the wrong lenses, or did you replace them and get the ones you wanted at first?
False. Hidrocor is the most opaque. (Almost 95% sure it is anyways) Hidrocharme is second up but has a bold limbal ring surrounding the lense. Natural colors are the most transparent.

the same goes for the ice, which is a semi-opaque white that turns bluish grey on brown eyes |

Yes, all Solotica lenses are semi-opaque.
They blend will your natural color to create the desired color. Three of the Solotica Natural Colors are more opaque: Esmerelda, Quartzo, and Topazio. I have tried both the Quartzo and Topazio. Even these more opaque lenses blend with your eye color somewhat. I achieved a greeney grey with the Quartzos while many others, with darker brown eyes (perhaps with blue undertones, as opposed to my eye's warm undertones?) achieved a true grey. |

I found otica belluci to have the best prices, but the site isn't in English. You have to convert the prices and then email customer service to find out the shipping prices. Viallure is better but the shipping is expensive, so its only worth it if you are buying more than one pair or are ok with waiting awhile. I can't recommend lens marketplace because my sister ordered lenses, waited 5 weeks, and they still hadn't shipped. She cancelled and ordered from otica bellucci - received in less than a week. If you order solotica, you should request the same batch/lot to avoid mismatched lenses. |
