Default Amethyst Contact Lenses

I heard that Amethyst was a very popular color for contact lenses. Do you like it? I searched Lens.com for all the brands that have that color, but I only found two: Durasoft 3 ColorBlends and Durasoft 3 Optifit Toric - ColorBlends. Unfortuntaly, both of them have been discontinued. So do you mean to tell me that Lens.com doesn't have any contact lenses in Amethyst?

Actually Amethyst colored contact lenses are hard to come by, i.e., they are not very popular. Probably because they in no way resemble that pic. I did try on a pair maybe last year, and found the color to be so slight, it really didn't show up very well.
So. . . I am still wearing FreshLook Colors Violet!

So the Amethyst lenses wound up looking kind of pale pinkish purple? Was that the final result?

Pinkish purple? No, not really. Ok, now I remember. The trial DEMOS that I inserted were FreshLook ColorBlends. -- NOT FreshLook Colors. Thats why it didn't show up very well, they weren't OPAQUE!

Not sure, however I believe that the only Opaque colors FreshLook carries are: Blue, violet, green and ????????? Can't recall the last!
Not sure if that's what you we're asking about. -- or -- at this point, even care! Oh well, I am sitting in a car coming home from Tahoe, with not much to do: Hence this long ago post! OOOOOOOOKaaaaay!

Thanks for thinking of Lens 101 while you're traveling. That's pretty cool.

I looked it up on Lens.com and FreshLook Colors come in Blue, Violet, Green and Hazel. Are those the ones you meant?

Thanks coconutoil for looking up the last color for me. Since I already have green/hazel eyes, would have never considered even trying them on, duh!

Hey, Lens 101 is "ALWAYS on my mind" (Willie Nelson). Someone Please tell me that they actually know who this individual is???????

Yes, I know who Willie Nelson is. He's had a long and storied career. I'm even familiar with that song, although I've been out of my country music phase for quite a while now. This is just for you, cattt.

Hit it.

Maybe I didn't treat you
Quite as good as I should have
Maybe I didn't love you
Quite as often as I could have
Little things I should've said and done
I just never took the time

But you were always on my mind
You were always on my mind

Thank you very much and remember--men with braids are sexy.

Hey thanks Petra,

When I first wrote the "always on my mind", I was almost convinced (about 95%) that it was Roy Orbison. That nagging 5% made me look it up so that I would not appear tupid. OMG, I just "outted myself" by confessing the above. Wow, guess it's true that going blond really does affect your amygdala, or is it your cerebellum.
O.K., now I have to believe that Roy Orbison is probably a more recognized name. Anyone know this one. (Petra your out of this one, as you won the last).

I'm sure that Mr. Orbison would have appreciated a "Pretty Woman" such as yourself.

If you keep posting pictures like you did in that Durasoft 3 ColorBlends section, you'll get more compliments. Don't your patients tell you how pretty you are?

Actually, the whole age factor makes any compliment appreciated.

Meh, age is just a number. If a person is nice to me, I don't care how old they are, they're precious to me. If a woman gets older and her hair isn't as shiny as it once was, and her face and figure are less likely to inspire a wolf whistle, does that mean she's not as valuable as a person? You touch precious people's lives every day and make them more comfortable, and that's beautiful, no matter what you look like.

Excuse me . . . I'm getting a little verklempt.

Ya know, I have been with hospice for nearly two years (in addition to working in the neuro/icu/trauma unit at one of the 50 top hospitals in the U.S.). Never wanted it to become know (except for Knotlob (member of this board)) -- I would come crying to him when I felt I couldn't handle it.
However the cattt is apparently out-of-the-bag now. Didn't want to ruin my previous persona of some eccentric, dry witted old lady, who kept body parts in her medicine cabinent.
Go Figure!

That's very sweet, Jawa. I agree that a person's personality is more important than their looks. Why, some of my closest friends are really ugly.

Wait, that came out wrong . . .

Yeah, well ya know what they say:
"Beauty is only Epidermal Deep, but Ugly Goes Straight to the Osteon"
Sorry, but just couldn't resist!

One second.

Let's see, osteon, osteon . . . osteon . . . . here it is.

"The osteon, or Haversian system, is the fundamental functional unit of much compact bone. Osteons, roughly cylindrical structures that are typically several millimeters long and around 0.2mm in diameter, are present in many of the bones of most mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians."

Oh, I get it. Good one cattt!
