Never tried colored contacts

I have 20/400 vision and never tried colored contacts, I need prescription ones.
I really like the wide eyed (don't know if anyone here has ever heard of them but you can view them on google, wide eyed contact lenses)
How can I get them? Do I just ask my eye doctor? I currently wear Acueview 2 (spelling might be wrong

) and I would like to try colored ones, like blue or something, I would like colored wide eyed contacts but i would settle for regular colored ones. Does anyone know how to obtain them? How much more are they? This post probably sounds stupid, I just then found and registered to this site.
Could anyone give me some advice on how to get colored contacts from my eye doctor? Also, can someone tell me what power 20/400 vision is? Or should I contact my optometrist? Thanks <33

First, go to your doctor and tell him that you want contact lenses. He will recommend to you the best lenses for your eyes. But don't buy them from the optic, because there are more expensive lenses. Buy them from the internet, you will find lenses at a better price

First of all, let me say that your post does NOT sound stupid. Posts like yours are exactly why Lens 101 was created. I love posts with questions. It give me the opportunity to look smart.

Let's see how I do on this one.

There's a special name for those "wide-eye" contact lenses, but I can't remember what it is for the life of me. I even searched the forum, but didn't find anything.

I'm not looking very smart so far, am I?

If you want those special contact lenses, you kinda have to talk to your doctor about it, since they're not available without a prescription. You can get those wide-eye lenses or even just regular colored contacts from your eye doctor, but you will probably save money buying them on line. The cost varies depending on what site you buy them from, so shop around. Don't forget that even when you buy contact lenses on line, you still need a prescription from your doctor.

As for what prescription would you need for vision, I don't know, but 20/400 is pretty strong. That means that if something is 20 feet away, you see it about as well as a "normal" person would see it from 400 feet away. Get a prescription and order some contact lenses.

I did find them, and as nice as they look, it would not be a good choice for you, as the entire site only sells plano -- this means non prescriptive contact lenses. Hope that you weren't set on this particular brand.

What are these "wide-eye" lenses called that are only available in plano? Sweet_r is correct in that you will probably save money on your contact lenses on line, and ICU2 is also correct in that for any kind of contact lenses, you will need a prescription. Even "plano" lenses require a prescription because even if there's no power, you will still need a prescription so that they'll fit correctly.
If anyone tries to sell you contact lenses without a prescription for them, keep moving.

They are actually called ---- Big Eye Contact Lenses, and you are indeed correct that even for plano ones, you will need an exam as well as a fitting by an eye care professional.
