Cool Are Soloticas more comfortable overtime?

I got my Solotica Natural Colors in Topazio which I LOVE ... but I hate to wear them They get so dry and my eyes get so watery after a few hours. I cleanse them well and use comfort enhancing solutions, at no avail.. I have worn them about 6-7 times so far but I always have to remove them before getting back home.At 100.00 per pair it's not pretty at all...

Have you worn contact lenses before, daniejim? Do you have a prescription for those lenses? There are several reasons why those lenses feel dry. Hopefully it's just a matter of getting used to them.

Default It's my third pair of colored lenses...

I don't have a prescription. My vision is fine, and I have worn Colormaker contacts for hours and hours and they're a fraction of the price... so you think I can get used to them?

Did you know you're supposed to have a prescription even if the contact lenses don't have any corrective power? One of the reasons why this is a good idea is that if you run into any problems such as dry eyes, you can just ask the doctor who prescribed the lenses for you. It's sort of a built-in benefit and one of the many reasons why the US has a law requiring customers to get a prescription before they buy contact lenses.
I'm not going to give you any advice about your dry eyes because I'm not an eye doctor. You should make an appointment and maybe you'll get a prescription for a completely different brand that is more comfortable to wear. In any case you will very likely get some relief for your dry eyes. I wish you well.

Default same problem

i've been wearing solotica quartzo in prescription for the past few weeks off and on. Horrible discomfort...beautiful eye color change hahaha. I really pushed it one day and with the aid of rewetting drops i wore them for 14 hours. it was not a good idea. i was in glasses for a few days with a bad irritation. my doc said there was no infection and to rest my eyes..ect. Today i wore them for 4 hours with no problem. i guess the material is drying? i don't know but i am am sure i cannot make these "everyday" contacts. enzyme cleaning weekly is a must or they are unwearable

Wow, that's too bad Jehf. What happens when you only wear the contact lenses according to the doctor's instructions? How long did he or she say you could wear them?

the doctor did not set time limits but i'm sure any doc would tell you to remove the lenses when/if they become uncomfortable and rewetting drops aren't helping. i didn't do this because my eyes are "troopers" in contacts normally and have been wearing them for 15 years now. Big mistake. I can wear these beautiful lenses for about 5 hours before i have to take them out. shame

I suppose if you're a 15 year veteran your doctor doesn't have to tell you when to take your contacts out.

Have you seen your eye doctor about your watery eyes from wearing those Solotica Natural Colors?

I'm not sure. I always thought that Clear Care was the be all and end all of contact lens cleaners.
Is there something out that that you might be able to use to physically scrub the lenses clean of debris?

What's happening sunshineshade? Were you able to clean those contacts successfully?

I have the same issue, but only with the natural colors line. I am able to wear the hidrocor (ice) for as long as I want to without a problem. I am mostly a magic top girl, they fit me best, but the hidrocor Soloticas are super comfy while the natural color Esmeralda, quartzo and topazio cause my eyes to burn within an hour of putting them in. What's weird is that they are the same size, material, and breathability as the hridrocorline...so wth???

Why not just stick with the Hidrocor lenses? It's like the say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Well, the Hidrocor ones are not as pretty...the best color Soliticas are the NC Topazio, Quartzo, and Esmeralda, and now apparently the new hidrosummer gloss line in azul. So what I have done is stick with magic top. That's still the best for me.

You said in a previous post that the Magic Top lenses "fit [you] best." How do they look? Probably not as good as Topazio or Quartzo, but are they still one of the nicer colors in your collection?

The Magic Tops look amazing. Natural but a very meaningful color change from dark brown to light blue. They look like I naturally have light blue eyes. I will try to post a picture when I get home later.

Most contact lenses will feel better when you wear them over time, but will get worse if you wear them overtime.

That's clever, Railfan. Nicely done. You can be proud of that one.
