Default clear care by ciba vision

Is this a good cleaner for hidrcore ice?I felt that my contacts were a little dry,and I read that this perticular solution is good for that? Ciba vision has an aqua care solution out as well.Anyone tried that?

Be careful with Clear Care. I've been wearing contacts forever and rarely have problems even though I have bad allergies (in fact, my allergies improve when I'm wearing contacts because they provide something of a physical block to allergans). I just have to make sure I keep my lenses clean. Since the Clear Care came highly recommended.....

EEEEEEK! I left AMPLE time for the solution to neutralize. I put one lens in and thought I was going to DIE. I took the lens out immediately, washed my eye, etc. Didn't matter. My eye bothered me all day and, in what is very unusual for me, I wore my glasses to work that day....

No question the solution is a good cleaner. Just look at all the positive reviews and recommendations. But, it also seems to be very reactive for alot of people.

Wow, I've heard from some people that don't like Clear Care, but nothing like that. I wonder why it burned so much? Did you ever find that out? Did you get a bad batch or something?

I found another thread that talks about caring for Hidrocor Ice lenses. http://www.lens101.com/color-contact-lenses/129600-new-here-colored-contact-question.html

PEROXIDE care systems can bleach out the color on some opaque lenses.

Never use clear care on ANY colored lens as it may affect the color.

After that "adventure" were you able to gather your courage and try Clear Care again?

Really? I'd never heard that before. I tried to do some research, but I didn't find much about it. The only results I got were from websites were non-professionals and people who do not officially represent Clear Care gave their best guesses. Nothing like a warning from the makers of Clear Care not to use it on colored contact lenses. Do you know of any such websites?

I know what you mean. Usually I like reviews from people who have tried the product, but not when I need a medical opinion.

what do i know afterall ive been an ecp for 20+yrs. Go on right ahead and continue using a peroxide care system on colored lenses!?!?!?!?!?!?

Lets do a simple experiment....

fill a small clear glass with clear care, then apply a few drops of your favourite food coloring. wait a few days and please if you may report back here what your results are.....Im just sayn!?

base acidic oxides break the cross links between dye molecules, through oxidation.

Is there a warning on the package of Clear Care not to use if for colored contact lenses?

Don't be offended if someone questions you, luvbostonxo2's. Everything you've said on this forum has made sense to me. However, there is bound to be someone who will come along and say "Really? I'd never heard that before."

I'm just sayin'.
