Hi, I have been a Magic Top color contact wearer for more than 10 years, and they were always comfortable. Then in 2009 I came across Soloticas, and bought the Hidrocor color lenses to try them out. They felt super comfortable, more so than my Magic Top lenses, but they were not as transformative. So when I learned that Solotica was coming out with new colors, Topazio, Quartzo, and Esmeralda in their Natural Colors line, I decided to try them out. I did a lot of research to make sure they were opaque enough since normally the Natural Colors line was not as opaque as Hidrocor. But I learned those specific colors were more opaque. So I got them. When they arrived I tried them on, and omg were the colors stunning. It was amazing. But then, all of a sudden, within an hour of wearing the first pair, my eyes we burning, and the lenses were uncomfortable. They also moved around a little, which I never had happen with the Hidrocor ones. I read the vile, and the size, composition, and materials were the exact same as Hidrocors, so I could not understand how they could feel soooooo different. So I thought it was that pair, and tried the other ones. Every time, same issue. The lenses are uncomfortable, and again I tried the Hidrocor and found them to be absolutely fine.
Has anyone had this issue? How can the same brand, same size, same materials, same oxygen breathability cause completely different impacts? I wrote to Solotica. They said they were making an effort to meet international standards and make their lenses better. But how? I am still upset that I cannot wear the best color Soloticas very long. And I wonder if anyone else has had this exact experience, found out why or found a solution for this issue. |

Hmm, that could be, but I've not read about that being a problem around here. Maybe someone else can shed more light on your difficulties.

That's very odd--the only thing that I can think of is that you didn't soak them long enough as they can sometimes need a few days to really in contact solution before they can go in your eyes
But I assume you probably tried that...I have tried Magic Top and Solotica Natural Touch Topazio and I didn't notice much difference |

well I had heard that I had to soak the Soloticas before wearing from other people but at first I only soaked for a few hours because I was so anxious to put them in and see how they looked--they irritated my eyes quite a bit but I was only trying them on so I didn't have them in for long--then I soaked for 48 hours and they were fine--my sister actually soaked hers in some 3% peroxide solution and she said that they were much more comfortable after that

I don't know, this is just what I was told by the company that I bought the Solotica lenses from, I'm not even sure if this is just for Soloticas or all yearly lenses either--but based on my experience it makes sense

The lenses probably wouldn't last very long if you left them out of the preservative solution. So I think you may be right, Niner.

Those Solotica people didn't sell you that "preservative solution" did they? Did it come free with the lenses or did you have to buy it extra. If you had to pay for it, I think I might know why they'd want you to think it was essential to have.

The website that I bought the soloticas from (a reputable from) suggested soaking the lenses in contact solution overnight before putting them in to resist discomfort and since I have heard from others who have bought solotica that they can be uncomfortable if they aren't soaked first, I am inclined to believe them |
