Hello, I'm almost new here and I'm still figuring out how to use this forum, but anyways. I really really need some good advice. I have greenish eyes (exactly like the ones in the picture) and I really want to make them brighter. I decided to go with the solotica's, but I don't know which color should I choose. I would like to achieve the most natural looking colour. I was thinking the crystal, topazio and quartzo from the NC lenses. what do you suggest? please help
thank you in advance. |

![]() So you want those Brazilian contact lenses, huh? They're very popular around here. I went to their website to see what these colors looked like, but the site is so hard to navigate--even after I found the page in English--that I just gave up. So you don't want to change your greenish eyes, you just want to make them a brighter green, right? |
|
|||
|
I have the Solotica Natural Colors Topazios and find them very vibrant but I have black eyebrows and warm brown eyes. I like them a lot, but I'm not sure how they would look on green eyes as theyre not completely opaque and the color of your iris influences the end result. I do think they would look more natural on someone with fairer coloring. They cover my brown eyes completely, and since your iris is green I think they would blend very well since there is a greenish/yellowish starburst in the middle
Here is a closeup pic in direct sunlight to give you an idea, it doesn't really capture the starburst thing though =/ |

Oh yeah and these were purchased from Viallure.com, they have an English version of their website which is very helpful! Otherwise I have heard good things from lensmarketplace.com which is in English as well.

really suit you. I was considering the topazio actually, but then the quartzo is a greenier color, which i think would blend in better with my green? dunno. or perhaps for the most natural color I should go for the crystals? or that would just make them plain white? I'm confused ![]() |

Haha yes I am super-excited about getting my Soloticas, plus I am looking for distractions from studying for the GRE lol
My twin sister got the Quartzos and they look even more natral than the Topazios but I'm not sure if they would be a drastic enough change for someone with green eyes as they are kind of a bluish/grey/green depending on the light. A striking change for brown eyes people but it might not be what you're looking for |

These aren't fancy Brazilian contact lenses, but they're pretty green. What do you think?
![]() They're Expressions Colors from Coopervision. They're a nice green color and you won't have to wait for them to ship from the Southern Hemisphere. |

Hmmm these are very nice but are they that drastic of a difference from the original green color? |
|
|||

You're right. They do look a lot like the picture at the top of this page.

|
thanks for your advice guys
i really appreciate. guess I just have to shell out 200 bucks to know for sure =/ which i really do not need right now sylvia, does your solotica's look a dead give away when someone is close to you? for example the dot-matrix pattern is too visible. |
|

Those Expressions Colors are really nice, and they're a lot less than two hundred dollars . . . . |
|
|||

Soloticas are around 80 dollars, if you want fast shipping you'll pay a little more though
The only thing that gives away the soloticas is that you can see the pupil hole if you are really close-but the pattern looks very natural As in, last weekend at a club the guy almost didn't let me in because my id says I have brown eyes lol |

haha, that must've felt awkward sylvia. by $200 I didnt mean that it is the price for a pair, but in order to try several colors you need to purchase more than one pair, and that ought to sum up :O and i still havent found my ideal color

You should def look at youtube videos for the different colors before you decide that's a better representation than the pics on the website--solotica hidrocharme or hidrocor ice would be a drastic change for your color--it shows up anywhere between a light grey or a light blue depending on your eye color-the lens itself is a milky white color which works with your natural color so the results are very natural-very cool
|
|
|||
|
in case you didn't know, hidrocharmes have a black limbal ring, hidrocors have no limbal ring, and natural colors have a slight limbal ring
here is a girl with green eyes with the hicrocor ice, I think they look great but I still prefer a limbal ring thehollywoodheels.com/2010/12/review-solotica-hidrocor-lenses-in-ice.html |

I see that I'm a little late on this response, but thought I'd share my two-cents after trying a few different brands/colors/patterns. I'm in the music business, so I'm always changing my look, wearing different hairstyles for photoshoots, etc etc and I wanted a dramatic eye color change, but not so much so that it would be blaitently obvious. I have naturally blue-ish/greenish eyes, somewhere right in the middle but not bright. I wanted those dramatic, watery blue demon eye type iris' (Think Bradley Cooper, Dude from vampire diaries etc.)
Another brand you may want to look into if you don't end up being happy with the Solotica Cristals are Soleko Queen's Solitaire in Perla. They were under $50 online (3 month lenses) at one of the two top dealers (not sure if I'm allowd to list) I ordered them for Halloween and they were crazy dramatic. They don't have a limbal ring, and are whitish, not fully opaque, but transformed my eyes to a really watery blue and allowed my natural dark limbal ring to show. What I have found after experimentation is that any lens that is whiteish, greyish, or any variation thereof and not fully opaque will enhance your natural eye color and make it really bright. For instance, in my case they turned a very very bright vampire blue, where as if you have more green eyes (as above) they'd be a light green. On dark brown eyes, they become a light grey to graphite color. Pretty cool. I'd consider Solotica Ice and Cristal of any variety more enhancers than changers, especially on lighter eyes. After trying Solotica Ice, Cristal and the Soleko Perla's I have finally found what I was looking for in the Solotica NC Quartzo's which I initially thought to be green, but are actually Grey (contact itself is white) with a yellowish/blueish/greenish star in the middle. The pattern was nearly identical to my real eyes, but made them a very bright light but believeable blue/grey, and where the pupil hole is blends perfectly with my real eyes. For reference, when I was wearing the Cristals and Soleko's I had multiple people call me out on wearing contacts which bummed me out. My goal was to have people notice something different about me, but not realize exactly what. Wear with caution people are pretty attentive! If you don't end up being happy with the Cristals, Check out the quartzo's on YouTube, they don't look anything like they do on the site! Hope this helps, Dan |

Welcome Daniel, and thanks for the great review. It really is harder than one would imagine, trying to choose the perfect contact lens color to achieve the look you're after. Not only is the color sometimes influenced by your own natural eye color, but I've heard that the same color from the same manufacturer (particularly Solotica) can look very different from year to year or even batch to batch. I don't have enough personal experience to know whether that's actually true, but it might explain why people sometimes say things like "on all the YouTube videos, the <fill in the blank> lens looked green, but when I got it, it was straight grey". I guess it will always be a matter of trial and error, but it really helps to read the reviews posted on here, and it's even better when we're lucky enough to get pics <hint>
(I think you have to have ten posts before it will let you post photos.)Glad you're happy with your Quartzo's! |

I found this picture on a website that supposedly teaches you a spell (as in witchcraft) to change the color of your eyes. Then I actually read the page and it gave a "visualization" to change your eye color. Evidently you don't have to buy colored contact lenses. All you have to do is breathe deeply, picture yourself with Bradley Cooper eyes, and say "there's no eyes like blue." Your eyes will then tingle and change color. I backed away slowly . . . It's all yours, Mr. Cooper. |

hello there dan now that's a great piece of advice, thank you buddy. I'm still waiting for the crystals, still on their way. to be totally honest I was torn between the quartzos and the crystals, considering I have a natural yellow 'star burst' thingy around my pupil, the quartzos looked more appealing.. but the videos on youtube really did put me off them. they looked really bulgy.. whereas the crystals looked more complimenting to the eye-curve you know.. I hope I wont be disappointed I'm really fed up of wasting so much money on contact lenses. regarding the soleko pearl.. my friend wears them. looks very nice on her dark brown eyes, but still not natural enough. I want to achieve the same ''bradley cooper look'', like you do, but in a greenier version you know : o)PS. if you got any pics do you mind if i see them? i would be very grateful ![]() |

well I wouldnt buy contacts online from any old company, only one with a solid reputation

Interesting. How do you find out about a company's reputation? Does Lens 101 have a good reputation?

First of all I only trust brands that have been around for quite some time and are approved by optometrists, such as waicon, solotica, and magic top Secondly I would only recommend buying these lenses from websites that have been reviewed extensively to ensure that you're not getting a cheap and potentially dangerous knockoff--such as lensmarketplace, viallure, or otica belluci There are other sites out there selling these lenses but from what I've seen these 3 are the most legit--as in they're selling the real thing and they won't run off with your credit card info Lastly I would never recommend anyone buy any contacts, even planos, without seeing an optometrist first |

Viallure has an English version of their website if you go to their website and click the british flag at the upper right it will translate everything--I've ordered from them (paypal) and have been satisfied, I recently ordered from lensmarketplace (paypal again) and am still waiting for my order to arrive but I've heard good things about them so I'm not worried wrlens is a reputable site as well but I hear that their shipping takes awhile |

If your green eyes look exactly like that photo I think you have beautiful eyes! I think Solotica would probably be better in terms of satisfying what you're looking for as far as enhancements go. Soleko Perla seems to be more opaque. I just received them in the mail the other day and they completely covered my eyes (which are a very dark brown to black color.) So in this case Solotica wins over Soleko.

Well hello again there buddies, it is almost 2 months since I've ordered my solotica contact lenses, and as far as it seems, I think I've been taken on a ride =/ =/ do any of you know of a reputable website where I can purchase the contact lenses and actually receive something?
I think I lost yet another $80.. I'm devastated! ![]() |

I think it's only fair to tell you that they don't sell Solotica contact lenses, but they do have a lot of great brands, and they might even save you some money. So click on that big red sign up at the top of the page that says "Lens.com." |

If someone is looking for an annual colored lens, lens.com will not be able to help them People who order Soloticas and Waicons are doing so for a reason, because a comparable alternative does not exist in the US. Bausch and Lomb just bought Waicon so maybe that will change in the future...we can hope at least if you order soloticas from lensmarketplace.com it can take a long time for them to ship but 2 months is ridiculous--have you gotten a response when you emailed? did they ever give you a tracking number? if you paid through paypal you can dispute I have been on a lot of forums and I have never heard of sites such as lensmarketplace.com, viallure, or ottica bellucci ripping anyone off I wouldn't just chalk this up to $80 lost though, if the company does not respond to you, you can dispute the charge on your cc and have the $ returned to you immediately |
|

I hope that works for you, lensesforme. Lets us know, okay?

Thanks for your response everyone, I greatly appreciate. Sylvia, I purchased them from lensmarketplace, and they did give me a tracking number, but the tracking site looked like it was jammed. Their website looked very professional, that's why I didn't want to assume I was ripped. I started getting worried because I've placed the order on November.. and on their home page they stated that delivery was very quick to my country. I e-mailed them about a dozen times, and they did respond by the way, but their answers were very short and not so helpful. Before jumping to any conclusions I decided to contact my post office today and they told me that the parcel has just arrived.. so phew! finally, the crystals are here!
I hope they are worth the wait now I will be posting pictures very soon, hopefully. fingers crossed! |
