Hi, new to the forum, haven't bought colored contacts in over 10 years. I have brown eyes and was hoping I could get your opinion on what is the most natural yet comfortable contact lens out there. I have blonde hair and medium tone skin. Was looking into the natural color by solotica than came across the others. Any reviews would be great our even if you found something better. I read the solitica are uncomfortable. Thank you all!

Hi Lynn. Welcome to Lens 101. Have you bought Solotica lenses before? I was surprised to find out that they're made in Brazil and then shipped out from there. If you're not in Brazil then things can get complicated with paying customs and waiting for them to ship. Do you know anything about that?

So a person can be in Nebraska and order from Brazil and just pay the price listed on the website, simple as that?

Yup--plus shipping which is usually reasonable, in the 10 dollar range

No kidding. I thought ordering from overseas was more complicated than that. So you've actually ordered contact lenses from South America and had them shipped to you in the US and you just paid for the lenses plus about ten dollars for shipping? That's it?

Yep, standard shipping took about 2 weeks-you can pay with paypal so you don't have to worry about giving out your cc info

Well, as an American who lives in a part of the country that's pretty proud of being American I'm liable to be tarred and feathered if it became known that I was buying anything from Those People Over There. Good thing I drive a Chevy. People get very emotional about that sort of thing.

At least that guy can spell "Go USA." I can't believe he misspelled two words on the other sign.

You're not a Cardinals fan by any chance, are you sylvia?

Whose opinions are being censored? Have you ever posted something here and had some of it mysteriously disappear? I never have.

It seems that anytime Soloticas or Waicons are mentioned 'senior members' try to chastise people for bringing them up, as the sponsor doesn't sell them
Lens.com is great if you want to buy American lenses, unfortunately these brands arent available in America and there is no substitute--If there was any colored lens in America that could hold a candle to these then we would probably be buying them from Lens.com

Yes, I've heard a lot of people say that, although I've never ordered contact lenses from outside the US. Don't they take a long time to get to you?

It depends on the site and how much you are willing to pay for shipping

At Otica Bellucci for example, a pair of Soloticas with rush 5 day shipping cost around $105--but these are annual lenses
You could pay $80 if you are willing to wait 15-20 business days

Lens Marketplace is a good site and easy to order from, but it can take a month to get your lenses--the same with Viallure, unless you pay for rush shipping

These websites will accept American dollars as well? I find that most places will.

Oh yes--some of them tell you the price in USD on the site, others you can figure out the conversion yourself before buying using an online currency calculator

That those overseas lenses had better be pretty amazing for people to convert their currency and then wait for the lenses to be shipped.

you don't have to convert your currency

the cc company or paypal does it for you

Lens Marketplace, Viallure, and WR Lens all show prices in USD
But on Otica Bellucci (the site with the best prices) only Brazillian Reals are listed--so to figure out how much your card will be charged you will have to google

It's not that difficult

And I don't think the 5 day shipping is at all unreasonable

And yes the contacts are great, and if you want an annual pair of colored contact lenses your only option is to order from overseas or buy expensive custom contact lenses that take at least 2 months to arrive and start at around $500

Exactly! I have noticed the same thing. There aren't any lenses offered in the US that come close in quality and there def aren't any that come in my prescription. I would be glad to try them if they did....It would be really nice to walk into an optometrist's office and try on samples of a lenses that looked even a teeny bit like solotica, waicon, or magic top...

No kidding they're really that much better?

These are Solotica Natural Color Quartzo contact lenses. (At least, that's the title of the picture.) Does anyone know of any American lenses that look as good as this?

Which brings up another question. Would you pay that much for a pair of contact lenses just so you could say you buy American?

Careful how you answer. That "morans" guy might beat you up.

Well it wouldn't be just so I could buy American--custom lenses are in a different league, they're handpainted and customized to your specifications--I might spend that much on lenses if I really really wanted the most beautiful lenses money can buy, but it would have nothing to do with them being American
