They do make contact lenses that will change your eyecolor no matter how dark. The most options are available in the Ciba Freshlooks. You can find out more at:

Default Best contacts 4 dark eyes hands down

I HIGHLY recommend Elegance Opaques.I have them in Light Blue and they look so natural.i have medium light brown eyes and these look so good on me.since im the only guy in my school who owns a pair of Elegance, every thinks they're my natural eye color(except for my friends that i've known 4 a long time). Everybody else uses Freshlook colorblends.i used to wear them and they look okay but i wanted a more natural looking contact.then somebody told me that paris hilton used colored contacts and i didnt believe it,b/c her eyes look so natural.so just like Electribe i did dome reseach on her contacts and i came across a contact forum(hi 'Blueeyes'!).I would ALSO RECOMMEND a Dr.check ur base curve b/c i use a 8.6 in freshlook, and Elegance come in 8.4 and 8.7,so i went up.BAD mistake.when i tried my elegances own they slid everywhere.so i did the the'ol hot water trick, and now they're pefect.

The forum is read on a daily basis. If you have the money to spend on contacts and want the absolute best color lenses. The best option is to have your doctor fit you into your prefered daily or extended conventional lens and you can send it out to be colored. This way you can specify the diameter of color and the iris diameter. Keep in mind that this can get a little pricey. Here is a list of some companys.

Adventure in Colors
1(800)537-2845

Crystal Reflections Int'l Inc.
1(800)807-8722

Custom Color Contacts
1(800)598-2020

Specialty Tint
1(800)748-5500

These companys will only deal with proffesionals so print this out and ask your eye care proffesional if they would be able to order send a pair of lenses to any of the abovve mentioned companys for tinting. The cost of hand painted iris lenses can run your eye care practitioner around $300 and they are going to pass that cost along to you.

I will put together a file of different contact lens companies and all their color lenses offered and post it some time later this week. I will also include a full break down of all the companys that do custom color lenses and post that as well.

you can't sleep with them on, in fact you shouldn't sleep in no contacts, it's not safe, no matter they're night & day. I dont understand the need for sleeping on contacts. Is it that necessary? that can cause so much serious problems, even blindness due to lack of oxygen to the cornea (eye veins swell and you can become completely blind and that's called ipoxia, i'm not lying!)

Anyway, vial lenses are the ones with less oxygen transmission so you must NEVER sleep on them. Wear them from 6 to 10 hours and let your eyes rest and breathe.

Please try not to sleep on contacts, and only do it when strictly necessary and only with night & day-kind contacts (extended wear, usually made of silicone)

to chicano: hey, i dont have a boyfriend because i dont want right now. i prefer enjoying my singleness haha!

Please why dont you post some pics with your Elegance Light Blue on? Pleeease!

It is always recommended that you see an eye care provider for having lenses fit. Recently a new law passed making buying even the cosmetic non prescription contacts without seeing a doctor illegal. This is done to help protect your eyes from the myraid of complications that can occur from improper wear and care of lenses.

BTW jamesbond if you are wearing acuvue lenses than you should be able to just order the colored accuvue. Give your dopctor a call and ask if you can order accuvue colors.

Hey, can you post pics of the other colors you have? I posted a post on this board with pics of me before and after my contacts. I have astigmatism so I am hoping to get an opaque toric lens this time around instead of these freshlook ones. I want violet so badly! I am going to Lens Crafters this week so I hope I can get the exact ones that I want.

Default Ciba Vision Elegance

I currently have two pairs of Ciba Vision Elegance contacts, I have light green and the dark blue. The problem is that I wanted to buy another pair and I cannot find where to buy them online anymore. If anyone knows where I'd love to hear from you. In my search I stumbled on this forum and I figured I'd post my pics for anyone trying to make a decision. I have very dark brown eyes and sometimes wear the dark blue or the light green. Hope these pics are helpful.

Thanks ;-)

Default Availability

All,

I have found a very hard time finding Ciba Elegance contacts. I know they discontinued in US but I found a place online that got them from overseas.

Is the website and I ordered the blue contacts.. What a difference. And for me they are way easier on the eyes than the disposables.. They have them in all colors...

Hope this helps anyone out there...

Default cheaper option to Elegance!

Hey also there is Natural Touch which is very similar to Elegance, though the pattern is slightly diff, it is also nice and dramatic.Save on lens,is good because i am nearsighted so im able to buy them in my prescription. Color is a bonus. These r also in the celebrity contacts w/Paris wearing them. So they can be compared for referance!

i'll ask the same question here as i did in Skippy's thread in case no one sees that. Does anyone have any pictures of the elegance light blue ones in regular lighting, ie no flash. The flash makes the contacts look a lot lighter than they would in typical daily wear, unless you have a blinding light in your eyes all day. I'd like to see what others would see when looking at you in an averagely lit room. Thank you very much

Electrictribe's Elegance Blue definitely look more realistic than Natural Touch. I tried the natural touch grey and literally threw then down the sink once I saw how fake they looked on me, mostly because I have big eyes so the dark ring was inside me normal iris perimeter.

Now Electribe you've got me all excited about getting the Elegance Grey! I am dark complected, but my eyes are not black, but a dark reddish brown color in sunlight. Right now I wear WJ Shadow Grey Complements, it will be cool to compare which ones look better on me. I know they won't look real, but who cares. I like subtle. Anyway, someone mentioned they got the Elegance Grey, can you post a picture??!?!?

Skippy are the GREY contacts you posted the NATURAL TOUCH or the ELEGANCE????

Hi BeachGirl,

Try clicking the red lens.com button at the top of this page. I looked there myself, but I didn't see "Ciba Vision Elegance." I found Ciba Vision, and also "Elegance Opaques (Natural Touch Opaque)" when I did a search for "Elegance." Are you sure you have your title correct?

I hope that helps.

Hi Electribe,

It's true that bad things can happen when you wear daily contacts overnight, but wearing contact lenses that are intended for extended wear are perfectly safe to wear overnight as long as you follow your doctor's instructions.

As for your "ipoxia," I think you mean "hypoxia," which is a lack of oxygen to the cornea. It can lead to blurred vision and pain, but it rarely causes blindness. In most cases people take their contacts out due to the pain before any permanent damage is done.

That being said, I agree with you that sleeping in contact lenses isn't really necessary, and nothing bad will happen if you take your extended wear contacts out every night, except they won't last as long.

Remember kids, your eye doctor is your best source of information about contact lenses in your particular eyes.

You can buy Elegance Opaque (also known as Natural Touch Opaque) contact lenses from www.lens.com, sponsor of this forum. All you have to do is click on the big red button on the top right corner of this page, or use the link below for the direct approach.

Me looks pretty fake because the browns showing too mich, the limbal ring sort of gives it away too. You're better of with the hidrocor ocres or mels. There's nothing worse than everyone knowing you're wearing contacts. Like with mepersonally, it's either natural or not at all.

I'm personally a huge fan of Solotica's Natural Colors. When I wear them I get complimented on having nice eyes all the time.

Wow. Nothing I like better than to look at closeups of giant eyeballs.

How about a picture of your smiling face, kmoanig? If you and I were to meet on the bus or something and have a conversation, I doubt if I'd be looking at you so closely. A full-face picture would give Lens 101 readers a better idea of how natural the contacts look on you.

Hi Lola. Those contacts look really great. Thanks for posting the pictures.

You said that they are "Ciba Vision Elegance" contacts. The only "Elegance" contact lenses I know of are Elegance Opaques, also known as Natural Touch Opaques. They are made by Coopervision and are available at Lens.com here: http://www.lens.com/contact-lenses/lens280.asp

I don't know of any contacts by Ciba Vision called "Elegance." There is, however, Elegance Opaques by CooperVision. You can order them here: http://www.lens.com/contact-lenses/lens280.asp

Smile Hidrocor!

I ordered Solotica Hidrocor in "ice" a couple of weeks ago and just received them. They're amazingly comfortable and are 6 month lenses... They look white on your finger but when you put them in they essentially lighten whatever color your eye currently is. They're advertised as being a light grey but on me, because my eyes have an olive green tint to them (they're pretty much brown), they look light green in some light... These are the second pair I've tried -- the other ones were ColorTones in "green" and they were horrible. They made me look like a vampire. They were uncomfortable (mostly because I risked it and ordered the only diameter they came in which was 14.4 -- my prescribed diameter is 14.0)... so they slid around a lot.

The Hidrocors I ordered are 8.7 bc/ 14.2 dia (I don't notice a difference at all with the .2 difference).

Anyway, I came on these forums to post photos and give info because when I was scouring webpages trying to find the best contacts for dark eyes, it was sort of hard to find good photos... so here are mine:

Natural color: (#1)
Hidrocor Ice under incandescent light: (#2)
With flash: (#3)
Natural light: (#4, #5)

Hope that helps

Also, I wanted to note that "Hidrocor" means there is not a limbal ring (the dark ring around the iris). If you want that, go with Hidrocharme. They also come in Natural Colors, which seems like a less opaque version of Hidrocharme but I've seen photos of them on people with dark eyes and they still change the color but not as dramatically.

You should give them a try, Heidi. I think the only way you could look blind wearing contacts would be if you got those weird "white out" contacts.

That girl in the red shirt does like like she's blind--or possibly undead. I don't know if it's the contact lenses per se, or maybe the blank expression on her face. Still, it could be worse. . .

That sure is a blank expression. You'd have to get special novelty contact lenses to achieve that look.

That picture of the girl with the sunglasses looks good. I wonder what kind of sunglasses those are?
I liked her eyelashes. The mascara really helped to frame her eyes, although in that particular picture it looked like there was a bright window reflected in her eyes that hid her pupils and made here eyes look a little strange.

Aw, it's too bad we can't see your whole face. Your eyes . . . er, I mean your eye . . . looks good though. That's a nice color with your skin tone and hair color.

Talking Solotica

I see allot of people have already recommended solotica hidrocor. I too have very dark brown eyes and when I first saw my Hidrocor Mel lenses I thought I was screwed, they were so transparent and pale looking but when I put them on my, eyes looked hazel, which is green with brown in the middle. Its was looked so realistic it blew me away.

Have you tried any of the lenses that Lens.com sells? They don't sell Solotica lenses, and I'd like to refer people to the website that's only one click away.

Well, I don't know, LOVELYLEELEE. I don't think the Webmaster will be to happy about you posting a link to the sponsor's competitor, but we'll see what happens.

Default Best color changing contacts for dark eyes

YESSS!!! There are contacts that can change your eyes completely without looking fake. You have to see this blog I found, I posted about it, it has the person's dark brown eyes picture in the bottom, and then the reviews with pictures of each brand, with how much they cost, how to buy, etc. It's awesome. This is the blog I was mentioning:

I took a look at that blog. It's interesting, sure, but I don't know if I'd go so far as to say it's "awesome."

Now, Lens 101 I would characterize as "awesome." It's got a ton of different brands represented, it's got a lot of activity going on and there are so many pretty girls here! That's awesome!

Which question were you answering, chalibu24? Was someone asking about contact lenses that don't look fake?

Oh yeah. Someone waaaaaaaay at the top of this thread said "I am interested in getting colored contact lenses, but I have very dark brown eyes. Are there colored lenses that can change my eye color?" That question got a whole bunch of answers, but the person who asked the question didn't come back.

I like to imagine threads like these having a happy ending. People going off and living happy fulfilled lives with beautiful eyes. That's why Lola's been quiet for such a long time.

There are so many soloticas but personally I just tried out Soleko's Queen Solitaire in Perla. I have very dark brown eyes- almost black and they completely transformed my eye color. I don't have 15 posts yet to post the video review I did so far but once I am able to I will certainly post it on here.

By the way: I strongly dislike Freshlook Colorblends. They will do little in changing your eye color drastically and they look very dotty/ too odd of a pattern. The only upside is that they are comfortable.

Queen's Solitaire are just as comfortable but much more opaque. I love them.
