Lens.com has several brands that feature light blue lenses. Acuvue 2 Colours - Enhancers have an Ocean Blue that you might like. What do you think?

What are the "Bausch & Lomb platinum" lenses called? Platinum is a color, not a brand. I did a search and found that Soflens Natural Colors come in Platinum. Are those the lenses you recommend, hotmm?

That's the color you want, abegail856? Platinum? It's kind of blue and gray at the same time, isn't it?

I doubt those enhancers would work on dark brown eyes, arent enhancers for light eyes?

Yes, in general enhancers are for just changing your eye color a little, like from light blue to dark blue. If you want to change brown eyes to blue, you would need some opaque lenses.

Yes, you're right. Enhancers are used to make blue eyes bluer. I guess I didn't read the first five words in this thread: "I have dark brown eyes." Duh.

Wow, you have such pretty eyes. If I may say so, love your lashes. They frame those grey lenses nicely.
Those lenses look very comfortable. Your eyes are clear and you're smiling.

I suppose that would vary from one person to another, but I'd like to read what hotmm has to say as well.

as a matter of fact they do tend to move and in very low lighting i have blurry vision do to small pupil hole
but my cousin has them and doesn't have any of these problems
so i guess it is different from one person to the other
one of the most comfortable and natural looking contacts i have tried is the waicon trikolor but i only tried the greys and they do look grey unlike other brands always turning blue on me

THANKS! This is a pic of a girl wearing the freshlook gray ones. They are subtle but look great in darker complexions. I can tell you that I met the girl in this picture in a tv show I did this past summer, and her eyes look REAL, i had no idea they were contacts until I asked her.

Thanks for your comments on your Waicon Tricolor lenses. That's what this forum does best.

A lot of people have reccomended Waicons and Bausch and Lomb but I have dark brown eyes myself and I JUST bought Soleko Queen's Solitaire in Perla/Pearl. The lens itself is completey white but it somehow translates to a light blueish gray color on my eyes. It does a great job covering up my natural eye color. I absolutely love them that I'm just spreading the word on how much I love them haha. I think they do a much better job of covering up your eyes than Freshlook Sterling Grey does.

Are those lenses white or clear, msourinho1?

they are a semi opaque white--they interact with your natural eye color to produce a grey/blue result

if they were a clear lens they wouldn't change your eye color now would they lol

So dark brown + white = light bluish grey?

Yes, actually blue eyes have pigment in the back of the iris, but no pigment on the surface--whereas brown eyes have pigment on top-so this contact mimics the effect of blue eyes
that's how that new laser surgery works that changes brown eyes into blue--they burn away the pigment in the front of the eye and voila, blue eyes

Really? I wonder if you can find a picture that would illustrate this principle. I've never heard of it myself. So . . . you're saying that we all have blue eyes, it's just that some of us have brown pigment on top of them?

yes--I have a link to the article about the surgery, that should explain it a little better
http://www.geekosystem.com/laser-surgery-eye-color/

Basically once you strip off the brown (or even green) pigment on top of the iris, you are left with blue

yep--it sheds the brown pigment over the course of a couple of days and the pigment never regenerates

The surgery should be available overseas within 2 years and FDA approved in the US within 5---and will cost about 5k

A much better option than that NewIris crap--at least you're not adding foreign material inside of your eyeball

Yes. I think anything called "crap" would be a "much better option."

A truly better option--color contact lenses. Far less expensive than surgery, far less risky as well, and it looks good, too.

Well for me that is true--I have no desire to permanently change my eyes, just play around with diff colors

but there are people out there that are obsessed with a permanent change--I can't imagine being that certain about it because once you have it done there is no going back

Boy it sure seems like a lot of people are having their tattoos removed these days. Have you been waiting for some procedure to come along that would remove that for you?

Well my exhusband and I had our names tattooed on eachother, seems to not have been a very good idea
And I'm getting married in August so I can't exactly walk down the aisle with the wrong guy's name on my arm lol

You know, I bet that's the number one reason people have tattoos removed. They have someone's name permanently inscribed on their bodies, then they no longer feel so "attached" to that person for whatever reason. I'm probably don't have to ask if anyone was there to ask either of you "Are you sure you want his/her name injected into your skin?"

I wish you well for your upcoming wedding. Are you going to be wearing contact lenses on that day?

May your love be even more permanent that a tattoo.

I'm sure you didn't mean it that way, but it came off kind of insensitive. I was married to my husband when we were tattooed--and I divorced him 6 years later for good reason-not on a whim

Not trying to go off on a tangent or get off topic-just saying someone's divorce is a touchy subject

Yes, divorce can be a touchy subject. I've never been married, but I know some people who have been divorced two or more times. Good, decent, nice people.

I read AmigaBonita's comment, and I guess I look at it as saying that it's very sad when people really, truly love each other and try to make a life together and discover that for some reason, they just can't. There are many reasons why they split up and you're right, it's not often done on a whim.

I hope I'm not just digging myself (and AmigaBonita) deeper, but just know that we don't want to offend anyone on Lens 101. I think you're trying to look at those comments in the best possible light, which is all I ask.

I'm sorry syliva. I didn't mean to imply that you got divorced on a whim. I always do my best to be sensitive, but I guess in this instance I should have been more careful.

That's ok, sometimes its hard to discern tone on forums--I'm sure you weren't trying to be malicious

Anyway--on to the contacts--I'm on the fence about whether or not I should wear colored contacts for the wedding--I like the way that I look in them, but I want to look back at the pictures and recognize myself! I may wear some subtle circle lenses though-like Acuvue Define

Anyway--on to the contacts--I'm on the fence about whether or not I should wear colored contacts for the wedding--I like the way that I look in them, but I want to look back at the pictures and recognize myself! I may wear some subtle circle lenses though-like Acuvue Define
Thanks for understanding.

I think for your wedding that you will probably recognize yourself even if you're wearing color contact lenses. Have some fun. This is your special day. Pull out all the stops. Wear those contacts.
