Question Welll my FXeyes came in...

And i'm not sure whether i'm pleased or not. They took 12 weeks to ship, about 3 weeks over what it says on their website, so I waited a LOONG time.

And also, i went to get my eyes measured for these, and the contacts that came in kinda look HUGE compared to my actual eye... other contacts i've used fit just fine, these appear really big...

Another thing is, that even though my pupil is 4.5, i can't really see out of these. Im honestly convinced my perscription isn't right! Anyone know how I can check if they are or not? I can see perfectly fine with my freshlooks and they're the same perscription. Anything 6 feet+ in front of me is blurry.

...they just look large idk. Opinions? Am I crazy for thinking they look not so awesome? What do you think?

Oh I don't know. They look pretty good to me, but you're a pretty girl anyway. You'd probably turn heads with weird yellow lenses.

you just confirmed what I suspected. I went onto their website and looked at the different tints and effects....Not bad but...in small print the lens size was indicated at 14.5 which is quite large and CAN cause the lenses to not fit correctly and the pupil size being a too small....Even tinted lenses have to allow proper visual correction first then the cosmetic effect second. I wouldn't wear them as they seem not to fit right on you.

bad news is once you order lenses from fxeyes there is a no refund no return policy.....
NOT GOOD>!

Normally I would fit a lens first then send two sets of lenses to the custom lab for tinting! One extra pair incase they mess up. But fit is also paramount so that the lens does not move excessively which can affect your vision.

Any idea if I could send these anywhere to get fixed! Because it's very significant how big they are. I wonder if they just could paint white around the excess? Idk. My best bet is probably trying to sell them!

Hi Marylia. Welcome to Lens 101. Sorry those lenses don't seem to be quite right for you.
I don't know if you can get those lenses "fixed." I believe those are custom made and I'm not sure how much room they have for adjustment. It's like a blouse or a pair of pants--you can only alter them so much. You might try calling the company that sold you the lenses and asking them to adjust or even replace them for you, but if they made them according to your prescription, they should fit.

I wouldn't try to sell them if I were you. I don't know about you, but I would be very reluctant to buy contact lenses that someone else wore; even a pretty girl like yourself, you know? I don't even know if selling used contact lenses is legal.

i'll have to call and dispute, because yes, i did get my eyes measured, and I have other contacts the same size that fit just fine, and also i'm not sure if they got my perscription wrong because I cannot see out of these. Like seriously 6 feet in front of me is blurry, if they are my perscription this shouldn't happen? And what i've seen from youtube, most people that get an even smaller pupil hole see just fine out of their fxeyes?...idk, somethings not right.

I agree. Tell your eye doctor that those lenses aren't working for you. Sometimes contact lenses are made of a different material and you need a new prescription for them.

Maybe you should make an appointment with you eye doctor and have the fit checked professionally. If they fit properly, maybe your doctor can find another reason why you can't see with them. I'm just about out of suggestions at this point.

ok so you guys are going to think i'm really dumb...but here it goes...SO everything was looking blurry *BECAUSE* i had my contacts switched...lol..they were in the wrong eyes. one of my eyes is -3.25, the other is 3.00....which explains ALOT!

They're still a little blurry, i'm going to try a different solution because I don't think i'm using the right one for these.

They *are* about 1mm bigger than my eye, 14.5, 8.6, which is what my doctor measured me as, is just fits big in this brand. . I guess i know now for next time to get them a size smaller. They can't fix the size of them, they can just re-touch the color for free! which I may do, to blend the pupil!

I appreciate all the help you guys!

Well, that's easy enough to fix!

Maybe you can ask your eye doctor to put a mark on the lens that goes on your right eye, although I'm sure at this point if you put the lenses in wrong again you'll know pretty quickly.

That seems really weird to me that your Freshlooks fit fine but these are "too big". They are both 14.5 diameter!? I knew that different materials can affect fit, but I hadn't realized it could be that dramatic.

I think they look really beautiful on you, but I guess that's not much consolation if you can't see well with them. They actually look more blue than "icy green" on my monitor, but it's a very nice look for you. Hope you can find some resolution to this. I can't imagine dropping that much $$$ and being unable to wear them.

Maybe she means the colored part is too big---if both of them have the same diameter, one could have a larger colored area than the other

I think they look gorgeous though--and for some reason icy green seems to pull more blue in pictures

What brand of solution were you using? Did it help to switch?

So you mean that the colored part doesn't always go all the way to the edge of the lens?

It never does--unless you're ordering custom handpainted lenses and specifically request it

Yeah, nice lens pictures. I can see that "margin" of no color that you mentioned.
